Local shop has it for like $40. I hate that smiling scan and have no need for anymore Hogans. Is it really that pricey now? Oof.

Why would any sane person do this? $160? A bidding war on a figure marked $70? Just check ebay. Sold for 52-90 in February MOC with a few for under a $100 right now.

The OP keeps going on about how it's a travesty that Hogan isn't in any leaked lineups. He keeps saying that Hogan would still the best seller in the line.

r/thathappened $160 for a doodoo figure. If you sell a DM Hogan, RSC American Made Hogan and get $160 for an E34 Hogan, Hulk's ex-wife Linda will smell gold and be hunting you like a cougar.

I was at my buddy's toy shop and he had one Hulk Hogan Elite 34 mint in box marked for 70 bucks. As we were talking some guy asked if he could see so my buddy says sure and hands him the box, while that guy is looking at the figure another dude walks up and says I will give you 90 for it as the other guy was still checking the figure out LOL So the other guys says I will give you 95 lol and all of a sund a bidding war breaks out, long story short the dude that walked in bought the figure for 160 bucks! lol Any of you guys see anything crazy like this in regard to WWE Mattel figures and I'm not talking about the insane prices on ebay lol. You're buddy is a piece of trash and a terrible business person.

Ringside had him for cheap a long time ago. I threw Giant's nWo shirt on him, Elite 16 Nash's nWo belt, added R3 Hogan boas, and painted the bandana black, converting him to Hollywood Hogan before the Storm and later Mattel figures came out.

And that was one of the least popular Mattel Hogan figures. No joke, I just checked ebay and that figure in box is going for a hundred dollars or more. Hogan can still move merchandise in 2021. Stop it. The average closed sale during the month of February for a MOC Elite 34 Hogan was $64.

My first thought was someone was trying to drum up some interest and hype for the figure to boost a current auction

Mattel offices, Monday morning:
People in suits yawn as they get their coffee and settle down for the working week. They are startled as one man bursts into the office with huge news.
"Hey guys, did you see the story online about someone buying a Hulk Hogan elite figure in a bidding war at a comic shop? $160!"
Everyone gasps, shocked. The CEO of the company appears behind the man, clearly interested in this news.
"Goddamit, the Hulker's still got it! We need ten million different Hogan figures right now, and magic them onto store shelves by Friday!"
The entire office rushes into action, adrenaline pumping. Someone calls the factory in China to offer permanent overtime and six thousand new jobs to get this done. This one real, true story that definitely happened and was then posted online, has dictated the new direction of Mattel's WWE output. The world is immediately a brighter place. Then all of a sudden, OP wakes up. Grabs a brush and puts a little makeup. Hides the scars to fade away the shakeup. The plan didn't work.

Seems to me your buddy has some pretty shady business practices. The figure SHOULD HAVE been sold for $70 to the first guy if he wanted it. Could you imagine Walmart or any other trusted retailer changing the price of a figure when it’s in your hand?

Whatever year this came out (2015 or 2016), I'd always go to Walmart on my lunch break and that Hogan along with TNF Rusev clogged the pegs.
Cannot believe that Hogan has value.

Yup. Did the same. Converted one to street clothes nWo and another to Millionaires Club Hogan. Then when I got Ultimate Hollywood I used one of the extra heads to replace my custom head.

I remember buying a load of these E34 Hogans at Smyths for £4.99, just after the scandal hit and he was released a few years ago. Great for customs/accessories.
