For anyone saying Hogan doesn't sell he was a top seller on WWE shop in 2020. Look at all the merchandise they have for him now, why would they waste money if his stuff wasn't selling? You can't find Hollywood Hogan's anywhere. Those are facts not opinions, just look at all the people screaming for a Mega Powers pack.

Why would any sane person do this? $160? A bidding war on a figure marked $70? Just check ebay. Sold for 52-90 in February MOC with a few for under a $100 right now. this board alone proves that sanity and wrestling figure collecting don't exactly go hand in hand.. there's probably some collectors out there who would rather pay more and have it in their hand right then and there instead of paying much less and having it in a week or so. that being said, i highly doubt the validity of that story

The OP keeps going on about how it's a travesty that Hogan isn't in any leaked lineups. He keeps saying that Hogan would still the best seller in the line.
Thanks for pointing this out. I'm sometimes embarrassed to be a human being. People need mental health help!

If that stroy is true and the first guy says he wanted to look at the figure and then a second random guy raises the price, and the he starts a bidding war that's on the second idoit.
A mom and pop store is not a store like Walmart. If someone comes in and wants to pay more you'd be a fool to not sell at the higher price.
The first guy should have committed.

Stories about a hogan figure starting up a bidding war isn’t gonna cause Mattel to suddenly make more Hogan figures real or not.

i just saw something crazy
i went into target looking for the new mattle wwe royal rumble elite series ultimate warrior action figure and when i was approaching the toys department, i could hear some men yelling. i heard one of them yell something about "millions of dollars" and when i got to the wwe section there were 4 (FOUR!) different men all fighting over the last royal rumble Titus O'Neil figure... each one of them had a hand on the figure and were tugging at it like a game of tug of war while doing the signature Titus OORAH barking taunt at one another.
after 5 minutes of tugging and barking, the store manager finally showed up to put an end to the madness. because he was so impressed with their relentlessness to purchase the item, he decided to give them all a fair chance at the fig and held a makeshift auction right in the middle of the store! they had a little mini stage in the middle of the aisle and set up chairs and everything. the manager was even talking really fast like real auctioneers do ha!
anyways he started the bidding at retail price and it quickly skyrocketed up to $100 within seconds!!!! by this time a crowd had been amassing to see what was going on. the bidding continued... $125, $150, $175..$200! The crowd was starting to get really into it! They weren't letting up and in no time it went all the way up to $500!!! The other guys instantly hesitated when it hit 500 and the crowd was anxiously waiting to see what was going to happen next. You could have heard a pin drop as they waited in anticipation. the auctioneer slowly said "going once, going twice..." and like a scene out of a movie, one gentleman yelled out "$550!" and the manager instantly yelled "SOLD!!! to this gentleman for $550!" while the whole store, which had gathered at this point, burst into cheering and clapping. they even hoisted the guy up in the air and he was crowd surfing around the entire target store all the way up to the checkout while pumping his titus fig up in the air lol. have you guys ever seen anything crazy like this lol?

I was ready to call you out on this being as fake as OP's story, but then I got to the part when everybody clapped and honestly I don't know who would make something up like that, so it's pretty obvious that this happened and it's wild that you got to see it.

But once I got to the front of the store Security stopped me and made me go to the register because the $550 was only for me to get the opportunity to buy it. I ended up having to use all the gift cards I still had in my wallet that still had some funds on them, because I had no cash left. It was totally crazy

I ain’t getting into a bidding war if I have it in my hands and the price says $70. I’m paying $70 and keeping it or selling it to the other guy. Well that would be a logical (and realistic) story. There’s no place for that here.

To be fair though, the only way you could get a Hulk Rules shirt was with that figure. I suppose to some that would be reason enough to pay high prices for that figure now if really needed.
As for the initial story?? I suppose it could have happened. We don't know. But it also could be very unlikely too.
