I rented this game earlier today, now I've always been a big basketball fan. I've gotten out of it for the past year or so. But now with the NBA and NCAA season underway, I soon fell back in love.
I decided to give NCAA Basketball 2008 a rent. Texas phenomenon Kevin Durant is our cover boy this year. Right off the bat I noticed no improvements on the layout, It is the exact same with the exception of the Durant pictures. Hell even the game play in my mind is the exact same.
The one thing that I did find different was the rosters. Last year EA was very bitter about ratings. The highest rated player in the game was like 83. This year the ratings have improved, while average players are around 60, good players in the 70's, and you have your big time players in the upper 70's/80's. Sorta like the NBA live ratings. Still no create a team, I doubt that will be added. I suggest getting NCAA Basketball 2004, that was the last NCAA basketball game to have the create a team feature.
The dynasty mode in my mind again has not changed. EA said they were focusing on a 'more deeper dynasty' but I do not see how 'deeper' they went. It seems the exact same as 07. Again the layout is the same. Also one thing that I miss is importing your draft class. I wish they would bring that back.
College classics are still there, I wish they would add some new ones.
And that's pretty much it, the only 'change' I see is the rosters and switching out Morrison for Durant.
I do not recommend to others, unless you are a basketball buff like me. But yeah I wouldn't pay $50 for this, I would recommend getting 2007's version, it's the exact same pretty much but with different rosters. Plus I believe it's about $30 cheaper.
