So with the new Undisputed Universal Champion being revealed it basically implies that one of the most prestigious championships in wrestling is no more.
It reminds me of the time the Women's and Divas belts were unified and they retired the Women's and continued the Divas.
I personally don't get why they didn't just drop the Universal name and continue the WWE Championships historic lineage.

Because Roman hasn’t held the WWE title for 1000+ days.

Has that been confirmed? I’d assume that it would continue on with that championship, similar to the original Undisputed Championship.

Nah, same lineage. It’s no different than when the WWF and WCW titles were unified and it was called the “Undisputed Championship” or when the WWE and World titles were unified and it was called the “WWE World Heavyweight Championship.” It’s still the WWE Championship.

The new championship is called the "Undisputed WWE Universal Championship". They didn't drop the WWE Championship lineage. They can't drop the Universal part because that's the championship that Roman has held for over a 1,000 days. I would have preferred they just keep the 2 belts until someone beats Roman and then make all the championship changes.
Instead of making these unnecessary changes to the men's world championships, they need to fix the Women's championships. One WWE Women's Champion and one Women's World Champion. That way it doesn't matter what brand they are on.

I don't think that Triple H and Vince will retire the WWE Championship for a title that has been around since 2016. Why in the hell is their an Undisputed Champion while their is a World Heavyweight Championship on Raw.

As others said, the WWE Title isn't retired, but more so the Universal Title is retired and that linage will go with the WWE Championship linage now when you look back at the history books.

“Undisputed Champion”
Our undisputed champion lost via DQ to the now WHC.
Sounds disputed to me.

Yeah like everyone said I’m also thinking both titles are still around for now... maybe later they will merge both of em into one & keep the WWE Title but retire the Universal Title.
They should keep both of the titles legacies intact tbh

I just don’t understand how they can call it “undisputed” when they literally just created a new world title.
So does Seth not count if Roman is undisputed champion? Multiple champions seems very disputed to me.

Roman Reigns should use all 3 Championship Title Belts. In fact, bring back the original Universal Championship Title Belt too. Wear the Red on the right, Blue on the left, Black around the waist, and have Paul Heyman hold the Gold.
As far as the lineage goes, they retired the World (Raw) Tag Team Championship Title in favor of the WWE (Smackdown) Tag Team Championship Title (which somehow became the Raw Tag Team Championship Title today). They also retired the Women's Championship Title in favor of the Divas Championship Title. Anything can happen. Even if it doesn't make sense, it will always make cents. New Belt, new money.
I think Roman Reigns will retire as the last Universal Champion...after he breaks Bruno's longest reign and longest combined reigns records.

I don't think Trips has noticed the womens Raw and SD titles has changed shows lol or he thinks the fans won't noticed, either way it needs to be fixed. The new title looks better then both of the old ones,so at least that's a step in the right direction. Just hope its not around for long and when Cody finally finishes his story, he brings back the winged eagle

People have made a good point about the WHC. How can it be taken seriously as a top belt when you have the huge Undisputed Universal championship.
When Bischoff introduced the WHC in 2002 the word Undisputed was immediately dropped from the WWE title.

Reigns is a heel who hasn’t won many matches clean.
Reigns hasn’t defeated Seth during this historical run.
Seth is a world champion.
So what exactly is undisputed? Babyfaces, on air, have said how he cheats to win. A guy Reigns hasn’t beaten is World champ
So what’s undisputed? Genuine question.
