Goldberg is one of the most popular wrestlers of all time. By far biggest star that Nitro-era WCW created. Was a World champion in four different decades. But Brock Lesnar is in the conversation for best wrestler of all time.

I was there for Goldberg’s rise and the streak. It was awesome. That short run gave him so much buzz and made him look like a killer. Too bad they botched it by faking the numbers and piping in crowd noise. After that it just wasn’t the same.
Lesnar I really didn’t like until recently, but he’s had some of the best matches ever with Angle, Guerrero, and Benoit. He’s still a major attraction, and his most embarrassing match was probably with Goldberg, who really could only do a couple of things very well.
Goldberg’s legacy has been tarnished in recent years so it’s easy to say Lesnar is way better. Goldberg was the perfect guy for 1997, but Lesnar is a genetic freak. Neither were ever great promos. Lesnar kind of evolved, Bill never really did.
I have to give it to Brock, but I don’t think it’s ‘not even close’. Goldberg was a megastar super quickly, was a legend before he stepped foot in a WWE ring and likely still would be a major legend if he never joined in 2003, whereas if Brock had never returned after 2004 then he’d be viewed as someone who abandoned the industry that made it possible for him to have those other opportunities, and would kind of be a negatively viewed flash in the pan.
You’d have to have been there to really see how big Goldberg really was. If anything his WWE runs devalued him to the point that people can even say ‘it’s not even close’.

Lesnar in 2002 to 2004 so was freaking awesome (apart from the short and garbage run with Big Show) however, since he came back, he does nothing for me at all and I have never seen the "attraction" aspect of him that so many people do. Those who missed out on Goldbergs rise to the WCW title simply cannot comprehend how over this guy was! I think for me, I have to give it to Goldberg as outside of Brock's first run, I have found a great deal of his stuff to be boring. It's a hard one overall and yes Goldbergs WCW run was epic stuff... Lesnar has also had some good stuff over the years too,he had great matches with Bryan,Punk,Cena,AJ,Seth,Balor,Orton,HHH etc.

- knocking yourself silly by headbutting a door < taking the nastiest chair shots and still moving forward - hitting 2 moves and asking "who's next" < actually demolishing anyone you step in the ring with - beating 100 nobodies < beating 50 somebodies - having your lack of in-ring ability smoke screened by protective booking < being 100% legit in the ring - dropping more guys than I can count < being one of the strongest and most explosive athletes to ever step foot in a squared circle - jackhammer < F5 - almost killing Undertaker < having multiple great matches with Undertaker - having a streak that's technically 5-1 because he was beaten by Chad Fortune in a dark match < beating THE streak - having an inflated streak of 173-0 in pro wrestling < having a real NCAA record of 106-5 - stiffing Bret Hart on accident < stiffing Braun Strowman on purpose

I still agree with u tho

Like Bill but Brock takes this one. IMHO (cant stress that enough) Bill was never in anything as entertaining as
Lesnar vs UT HIAC Angle vs Lesnar @ SSlam 03 Lesnar vs Angle Iron Man match
and several other things I cant remember.

Love both. I was a kid during Goldberg’s undefeated streak, and was a teenager during Lesnar’s rise. As a fan I’m going with Goldberg purely for the undefeated streak and my memories watching it as a 7/8 year old. Something about his theme hitting and standing in the middle of the pyro always got me hyped.
Lesnar is literally the definition of a “once in a lifetime” talent. The things he did were freakish and his feuds with Angle and Taker are all time classics. Can’t take anything away from Brock and him leaving in 2004 left a HUGE hole in the WWE roster for me.

Goldberg made a career out of pretending to be the kind of man that Brock really is. Whether they meet in the ring, on a football field, in an octagon or on an amateur wrestling mat, Lesnar wins. Brock for me and it's not even close Bill made the NFL. Brock didn’t. Multiple NFL coaches have said they’d win the Super Bowl every year if they had a team full of Bill Goldbergs. Sadly his untimely abdominal tear ended his promising career prematurely. Yes, Brock would wipe the floor with Bill in a legit fight, but let’s not act like Bill couldn’t tear apart 95% of the people on this planet.

He couldnt whoop half of any active roster even in his hey day. He's probably the most over-protected wrestler from a lack of ability standpoint ever to grace a ring. No stamina, a couple moves he could barely do right in his prime and big. That's it. He's been carried his entire career by better men. Batista and Bobby Lashley are not only better powerhouses than him, they would crease Goldberg in a real fight 10 times out of 10. Regal would fold him to this day.

Batista and Lashley are trained fighters. Jericho was trained by Stu Hart, a grappling and submission specialist. Regal is also a grappling expert. I’d say they fit in with the 5% that I mentioned Goldberg couldn’t beat.

Lesnar, 100% Lesnar. I didn’t grow up watching with Goldberg at his peak, and all I have seen of him I’ve been disappointed.
Brock is still brilliant to this day, and still one of the best WWE’s produced.
