I'm kind of surprised with wrestling fan & enthusiast Jeremy Padawer leading the way the last few years at Jazwares & his history with Jakks & The Classic Superstars Line that he hasn't started a Classic Superstars style line with Jazwares. The occasional Luminaries figure like Owen Hart is the closest thing we've had to that. I think that they dropped the ball with that & there are enough Non WWE Classic wresters out there that Jazwares could've done figures of. There are more & more figures being made with companies like Powertown, Zombie Sailor, etc that Jazwares could have signed. Now that the AEW line seems on the downwards trajectory (unfortunately), the chances of a Classic Superstars Style line seem less likely to happen, unless Jazwares Vault could maybe be home for something like that. At least give us more Luminaries figures. Any thoughts?

The Luminaries figures seemed like such a home run when they were announced, and the best we got out of it was an underwhelming Jericho from his time in Mexico and a so so ROH CM Punk. Like the LJNs, I honestly forget that these are a thing. I understand that maybe there’s licensing issues with particular attires, but if that was going to be an issue that they knew they couldn’t get over I wonder why they even bothered in the first place. We never got Arn & Tully (looking forward to their Powertown figures) and a Natural Dustin has been sitting in their lap since day one unless that’s off limits too.

They can't even give us current roster members within 2 years of their debut. They can't even get more than 4 waves a year to stores. I think you have high hopes expecting more from a company that can't possibly do less.

This is what the Luminaries figures should have been. They dropped the ball so hard on that idea. Starting it with a CURRENT Sting was insane. Luminaries could have been once a wave, classic versions of guys from their Indy days or their previous runs that never got covered. This is where we should have gotten ROH Christopher Daniels, Colt Cabana, etc.
I love this toy line, and I probably have 85-90% of it, but at this point, I just don't expect Jazwares to actually execute anything properly when it comes to stuff like this.

I have zero confidence in Jazwares as a consumer, let alone the amount required to execute on a line as awesome as the old Jakks Classic Superstars.
Personally, I don't think there's a big enough market for mass-released retail non-WWE figures of old wrestlers. The talent pool could not support it. Online exclusives maybe? Anything is worth a shot. But, I present the so-called Jazwares Vault as exhibit A as to why I don't believe that would work either.

A figure of a retired wrestler never really ships late. *Points to temple to indicate intelligence*

Maybe they could create more Luminaries for Jazwares Vault with a limited amount of supply? So many Classic wrestlers not signed by WWE can be made still.

I have no idea why Jazwares has not released more classic superstars style figures with Jeremy at the helm, weird decision.

I'm surprised with Jeremy leading the way, that Luminaries weren't a higher priority considering the success with the Jakks Classic Superstars line. So many people that Mattel has not made that Jazwares may have been able to make, including some of the people signing with the smaller companies like Zombie Sailor, Rush, Epic Toys, etc.

All Jeremy seems to cares about now is secondary market items like the exclusives. You know that for every 1/100 or 1/3000 they release at least one or two of each stay with him. That and his Pokémon cards. As far running this line goes he’s doing a horrible job. The greatness he did with the CS days are long gone. The way this line has been so poorly handled is pretty embarrassing.
Look at Sting he’s been there for three years. And even if we forget about the Classic attires of Sting we were hoping for during those three years…everyone was asking for a singlet Sting and now after he retires we are getting a Supreme version. Exclusive to Walmart so not even a full mass retail production run but a limited store exclusive production run. Yet for three years they ignored it and gave us the same exact figure with a different shirt logo. Not even new heads besides the RSC ring set. Why couldn’t that head have been used on other figures?

I have a tinfoil hat theory: yes Jeremy has always championed collectibles having a resale value. But I suspect the reason why they really do these is because its an excuse to spend the least amount as possible on a production run, slap a sticker on it so its instantly desirable and sell through the entire run. It's carny as hell, but if it keeps the line alive, cool I guess

It kinda sucks that they dropped the ball with a possible Luminaries Line. So many possibilities of non-WWE signed talent.

I bought bubbly Jericho, Owen and Tazz, hoping to support while they got the legends line off the ground, but it looks like that’s now happening. Given up on this line completely.

It would be cool but I feel like it would be limited as far as options
