Don't tell me what to eat. God doesn't dictate what I'm hungry for and neither does the crazy religion my entire family belongs to.

I have an honest question. Why can't you eat meat?

I have an honest question. Why can't you eat meat? Meat is seen as a major staple item. Something most people eat daily. Thus, for lent you are supposed to make a sacrafice and give up meat on Fridays. Its symbolic. I was raised Catholoic.....but there is just too much I question and cant buy into. That happens to be one of them. What if you were a vegan Catholic? Giving up meat is what you do anyway. Do you give up veggies? If so......what the hell do you eat? Unfortunately, the catholic church is so deep rooted in traditions that it forgets the world has evolved. And some of these traditions no longer hold the strength that they used to. Another example would be the priests getting married. Many religions allow the priest or pastor to marry. But not catholicism.

It was allowed,then not,then allowed again,then not. It's crazy.

Why can't priests get married? Are they married to God? If so, well, I won't go there.

Priests can't get married because if they did, then banging little boys would be a direct violation of that "Thou shalt not commit adultery" commandment. Anyway, I'm no Catholic...in fact, I'm a Lutheran, which I'm pretty sure is the farthest you can get from Catholicism and still be considered a Christian...but I choose not to eat meat on Good Friday out of principle. And because I like fish cakes, and I happen to have some in the freezer as we speak.

I never understood why it was called GOOD Friday when it was the day Jesus died. Sure, He died for our sins, but it's still a little f*cked up.

"I don't know much about the bible myself, because I don't have to, because I'm Catholic. Not a lot of Catholics have read the bible. It's a different perspective on rules for Catholics. It's not like other religions. Hindus are not supposed to eat meat. They don't eat meat. Catholics, it's like 'Only eat fish on Fridays... unless you forget. Eh, do whatever the hell you want.'"
This being said, I am Catholic. I might or might not eat meat tommorow.

It's good because a dude died, gotcha I don't get it why you can't eat meat on a friday because Jesus died... Makes as much sense as those stuck up bungholes in the catholic church making my friend pay $600 to get a divorce and still be in the church. Wasn't that why Jesus turned over table anyways because of the church worrying too much about money?

The McRib's back at McDonalds. Damn right sir. Damn right. I'm Atheist, so I don't really care about Good Friday, or Easter. All I know with Easter is that damn bunny, and that I need some Marshmallow Peeps. I am also eating a ham sandwich right now. Ham counts under meat right? -CMD
