WWE: Flexing Its Muscle September 26, 2007 STAMFORD, Conn., September 26, 2007 –World Wrestling Entertainment Inc., the global leader in sports entertainment, has announced a new global organization. Shane McMahon, Executive Vice President, Global Media, is expanding WWE’s operations into London, Shanghai, Tokyo, Sao Paulo, Toronto and Sydney in an effort to tap into WWE’s strong worldwide appeal. The regional office in London will be led by Andrew Whitaker as the President of Europe, Middle East and Africa. Carl DeMarco will continue to focus on expansion through the Toronto office as the President of Canada, Latin America and China. Jonathan Sully will establish WWE’s headquarters in Sydney, Australia, as the President of Asia Pacific. “Whitaker, DeMarco and Sully will oversee integrated sales, marketing and digital initiatives as well as focus on new and emerging markets. This new structure will allow us to more quickly exploit business opportunities and leverage the strength of the WWE brand,” said McMahon. WWE showcases its unique cast of characters in more than 130 countries, putting smiles on faces worldwide. Additional information on World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: WWE) can be found at wwe.com and corporate.wwe.com. For information on our global activities, go to www.wwe.com/worldwide/ --------------------------------------------------- i personally think this is bad if they do like the roumers said. ethnic wrestlers go to their territories like Mysterio to mexico and Regal to england. I doubt it will last.

I doubt They would take the big names off of tv. This has been in the works for a while now. It is supposed to be 2 or 3 semi big stars to each Region And the rest will be developmental Talent.

I'm all for it. It might shrink the WWE roster a bit and let them put more guys over. It will also help maybe get new guys in.
I personally think WWE should just buy HUSTLE in Japan and use that. It's sports entertainment, it has Tajiri, Rene Dupree/Bonaparte, Kenzo Suzuki, Scott Norton, etc. It's also more entertaining than WWE. You can't beat Esperranza, he has air bullets. Just air it in America and call it good.

Shouldn't they make their American product not blow goats before expanding?

They need to discuss a PPV in London tbh. thats exactly what they need to do... sorta. they should make international shows a bigger part of their yearly schedule. instead of having england and japan shows this special tour event, they should make those locations, along with places like ireland, africa, australia, etc. (i dont even remember the last time WWE was in those places) more common event locations. The only international show that should be a big deal should be Christmas in Iraq. either that, or make their internatial tours more frequent instead of once a year. OR make Smackdown and ECW travel to different arenas so WWE can cover more places across the world. might cost a little extra, but tickets purchases will make Vince more money than he paid. (because international arenas are HUGE!!)
