When i first began watchin wrestling I was probably 11-12 maybe younger. WWF attitude mosh n thrasher etc...that was it tho i never really looked into other feds like WCW and ECW. So I just assumed WWF/E was the top company and watched it pretty religiously.
So I just wondered about the RAW vs Nitro war, when was WCW on top? And how long did it last for. I imagine WWE will say it wasnt that long but I just wondered wot the unbiased opinion was tbh...
Any other info wud be appreciated
Thanks

WCW gained steam in 1995 and started fizzling out by the end of 1998.
WCW had always had a decent alternative to the WWE and I actually liked the pre-Monday Night Wars era WCW in the early '90's with guys like Ron Simmons, Sting, Big Van Vader, Lex, Johnny Be Badd, Steiners, Flyin Brian & Tom Zenk, Stunning Steve Austin, etc. Plus, I used to love it when TBS had Clash of the Champions telecasts. It was almost like a free pay-per-view.

The truth is never. When i first started watching, I used to watch WCW pretty much for the same reason you watched WWE. At the time the whole NWO thing was interesting but watching now on 24/7 WWE had a far better product at the time.

From about the start of the nWo( Summer '96) until mid 1998, WCW kicked WWF's ass week in and week out. And it was a much better product.
But once the Attitude Era got started, it didn't take long for the tides to turn. By the start of 1999, WCW was already getting their ass handed to them again.
