yeah but is that fair to all his opponents....think of it this way, you erase benoit from wcw, you erase the 4 horsmen as a whole, including flair and some of their biggest angles.... you erase his title losses then you erase others wins which isnt fair to them. i'm not saying benoit deserves publicity, i just dont think its fair to all his opponents over the years to erase him and all his work

Simple question.

Does there have to be total loyalty to whether or not Chris Benoit's (in-ring) work can still be respected?

I mean, here's an off the wall but slightly fair comparison.

Shawn Michaels gets in a car accident, becoming paraplegic. Does that change your views on every thing he has done, now that you have a refigured opinion of where he stands currently?


What I'm getting at is simple.

A very small majority believe that Chris Benoit is innocent in one facile or another.

But in truth, it is rather split on those who know what happened. Unfathomable, Uncalled for, Unforeseen, and Unimaginable events. Taking two innocent lifes, and one that can or can not be forgiven. But shouldn't have died in the first place.

Of all who faced reality. Not one of them should have to erase the respect of the professional, in loathe of what the man did on one emphatic weekend.

It's like telling a long-time wrestling fan- "Those guys you like were good, but they are old timers, you should really cheer for Orton, Batista, Cena and the guys who wrestle in 2007."

It's so disrespectful to be told who to like or not to like. Especially as if you have no intellectual capacity to make a rash decision.

Bottom-line.
You can build me up or down, at your discretion, on why Benoit should be remember like Milli Vanilli. An imposter.

But I will always look past that, and think, how sad it is that we only know so much.
That a young man will never become just that; a man.
That a woman (no pun honestly intended) may have been emotionally at peace; and I mean that in a distraught way. That she had every power in her being to get out but no idea that it was a do or die consequence.

I also think about people who aspired to be wrestlers because of him. Or already have trained and or patented their style in essence of how big a role he was on them following their dreams.

The worst thing is you may lose every fiber you had of respect for him. But talking ill of the dead is as bad as it gets.
His time sheet has been handed in, his hours have been long filled. He isn't returning to the job, so why even bother to pick a fight with some one who will never in hindsight defend himself?

Benoit murdered two people and then offed himself rather than face the consequences. No matter how you look at it, the man was a coward and a murderer. The fact that he could wrestle isn't even germane to this discussion.

I have to go with CBT on this. I know what he did, it was terrible, but I'm going to try and remember him for what he did before all that. I don't like people telling me I can't enjoy good wrestling.
