-- The UK's Power Slam magazine recently interviewed Rob Van Dam. Here is what RVD had to say regarding the Chris Benoit double/murder suicide:
Q: Okay. Moving on to the Benoit tragedy. Having known Chris for years, you must have been shocked when you heard that he'd murdered his wife and son.
Honestly, I'm not even convinced that he did it.
Many people like myself who knew Chris feel like it wasn't Chris who did that. That could mean lots of things: it could mean that someone else actually did it -- which I know is kinda hard to make sense out of, with all the investigations that took place. But that's still as believable, if not more believable, than believing Chris -- that good, respectable person we knew -- committed this horrific act.
It could mean that some kind of demon or evil spirit somehow entered his body. We can't scientifically explain something like that; but many of us believe that the body can be possessed. Again, that, as far-fetched as it may sound, is just as believable as thinking that Chris Benoit was capable of (killing his wife and son).
Lastly, the best scientific explanation we have is that Benoit had brain damage from the concussions and trauma to his head, which could have led to dementia.
And In other news RVD has discovered Meth.

And In other news RVD has discovered Meth.........along with Acid, Trip, Cocaine, and a plethora of other drugs. Thats more like it. There were/are defenatly possiblities out there of what happened to that family. However, evil spirits, is outright absurd. Either RVD is on *MORE* drugs or he has quit his pro wrestling life to becomes one of those crazy pastors to win up an 80 year old televanglist.

Are you sure you dont mean he was on an "acid trip"?

I don't think RVD is really saying he blieves Benoit was possessed, I think he's just using that as an example to express how hard it is to believe that Benoit could be a murderer

I think the spirits thing might be possible. Many times soo innocent and nice people seem to do sick things without ever having a past of evil.

i bet a lot of people dissing van dam in this thread believe in god, which is far more unrealistic than what he is saying. rvd is obviously a spiritual man, i doubt any of you are.

i agree with RVD, Benoit was probably possessed, I Believe in God, and that the bible is truth, so yeah i would say i think he is was possessed and it was just a way satan tried to destroy him and it worked, satan must have been threatened by Benoit's spirituality and decided to try and take him out, so yeah Benoit might of gone on to do some good things for the Lord, now he wont.

I can believe that something other than Benoit himself was at work. I mean, come on, SOMETHING had to go wrong in his mind to cause an otherwise gentle man to do such monstrous things.

I love how people bash RVD for drugs when 90% of the WWE roster either smokes or does steroids.

Also, RVD is bashed for pot, when people like Randy Orton, and Jim Ross openly smoke cigarettes, which can be considered worse.
