What do you think? I think if they put the belt on Rey, it gives hope to Jeff. With his current gimmick (or lack of one) I don't think Matt Hardy could carry the company, but with something like his V1 persona, he'd make a great champion. He's great in the ring and loaded with charisma (when used right). I think Jeff could be a champion under a competent creative team, but WWE doesn't have one of those. He would need to be booked as an unpredictable risk taker with a strategy his opponents couldn't figure out to be seen as a threat to bigger guys like Cena and Batista, much like Shawn Michaels was booked against Diesel and Psycho Sid. I think that WWE would just focus on his ability to perform high spots though.

I could only see them as transitional champs. I mean, yeah they're over and they do have pretty good charisma and fanbase. Maybe if they turned heel, but I think it won't happen because they're not roided and/or between 6'5"-7' tall.

if chumps like edge are champ then both hardys have an equal shot.
i can see jeff holding the title for a month or so, after an upset win. sorta like if he beat taker in the ladder match, have him hold it for a while, show it off, then lose it at a PPV
Matt i can only see beating people like edge and other people who are barley in the main event scene. like if kennedy won the belt, i can see matt hardy beating him. for it then losiung it in like a month

I can see one of them winning the ECW title.
If they put Matt back into the V1 gimmick and REALLY pushed him, it could be a gold mind and he could win a major title.

Next year...WrestleMania 25...They could easily give the titles to both of them...At the same time...That would be incredible. They've definately paid their dues and deserve it. Another person I believe who needs to win the title, and can carry the company is Hardcore Holly. Plain and simple.

Nope. Never. If either has the slightest chance, its Matt, but if they have an ounce of respect for either Major Title, Jeff will never, ever hold it.

Trust me, no one is a bigger Hardyz mark than I am....and I have my doubts. Going on pop alone, either of them could hold the title. You also have to take into account Jeff's unpredictability. Matt, although liked by casual fans and smarks alike, just doesn't strike me as someone who could be believable enough to take on people like Khali and Batista. Sure, Rey, Edge and Michaels were smaller guys who held the titles...but let's reflect. Edge, as much as I absolutely hate the guy, is a damn good heel. He's despicable and will take any measure to ensure victory. Rey was given that belt because of Eddie('s memory), and I'm almost certain Eddie was going to go to 'Mania to win it....so Rey replaced him. Rey basically lost every non-title match he had when he was the champ. Michaels? Who can deny that guy. Pure charisma, pure talent in the ring...he has(d) it all. He was, and still is, a believable world champ. I never once found myself even thinking about his stature. So, when push comes to shove, I think the Hardyz both have a chance at the big titles...albeit a small one. Matt's V1 gimmick was so f'n over when he was heel, then I would've said yes...but he's just a cheesy babyface now, who, quite frankly speaks way too highly of himself for being face. Jeff....could certainly be a transistional champion, but I don't see him having any long term run.

Honestly, I think Matt will be a World Heavyweight Champion( Smackdown belt, not Raw) one day, probably by winning it from Edge. He's a good wrestler, is very over, solid charisma( better as a heel), etc.
Jeff will never win the big one. He's a below average wrestler who relies on high spots that he botches most of the time. He's lazy, unreliable, a former drug addict. The only thing he has is his overness, which will have to dry out eventually when people realize his gimmick hasn't changed at all since 2000.

I think if you turn matt heel and give him a gimmick, yes it would work. I think Jeff would be good as he is right now. a huge underdog guy. Although, I think matt deserves it more, I wouldn't be surprside to see Jeff w/ it first.

The next time Smackdown has to go into panic mode and quickly crown a new champion (it's bound to happen again) I'd like to see Matt win the World Heavyweight Championship in a surprise upset and then go on to have a better underdog reign than Rey had last year that lasts for several months.
Maybe he could start out as an underdog face that the crowd is pulling for and slowly evolve into an arrogant heel that believes in his own hype and thinks his crap doesn't stink.

WM25 should be the day when Matt AND Jeff win their world titles. That would rock, and you know it. It would be historical. Imagine a Eddie/Chris ending to the show, except better and more emotional, minus the steroids, murder, and both of them dead in 3 and a half years. Oh, and plus some more teeth.

^ Amen... was I the only one who wanted Bob to win the belt a few years ago at the RR? Nope, I was cheering him on too. Too bad Lesnar made him look like a complete bitch in the feud. Matt and Jeff both have a chance. Both are cash cows that can put on some solid matches on certain nights. In fact, I'm expecting Matt to at least get a title shot within the next year. He's among Smackdown's top faces and he's actually a part of one of its biggest feuds.

I would like to see Matt as champ, but if they don't even give him the US title, I don't think he will win a major title.
Jeff... well I don't see him as world title material, but knowing WWE, maybe one day, but it would make me stop watching the show.

First of all what's everyones deal with the Hardyz. Why is there so much hate? Especially wth Jeff? yeah they are both smaller guys, and Jeff used to have a drug problem. But he overcame it. Eddie Guerrero (who was an outstanding champion), had the same problem and went on to be WWE champion. Why not Jeff? I hope that they both win a world title and not the ECW title.
And Hell No to everyone that said Hardcore Holly. Between 2000 and 2004, maybe I would have liked it, but not now, he gets injured all the time, he's too washed up. I think it's time for him to retire. If it weren't for the Hardcore Championship and Crash Holly he would have been released back in 1999.
