Anybody know exactly when the WWF changed their ring ropes from red/white/blue to red? I know which year, but I've just always wanted to know what first event was when they introduced the change.

It was, IIRC, in a "Raw is War" episode around April/May 1997, the week after Ken Shamrock's WWF debut. That episode, the first after leaving behind the red/white/blue ropes, had a red/black/red rope color scheme.
BTW, WWE should have a Red/Silver/Blue rope color scheme for PPVs, brings back a bit of nostalgia, but also incorporating all 3 brands.

The Red/Silver/Blue for PPVs would work for me.

I enjoyed seeing the red, white & blue ropes last week on RAW. It made it feel like the old days again. I personally look foward to RAW at Christmas and the Great American Bash PPV in the summer because they use the R,W & B ropes.......Bring them back Vinnie Mac!
