Well, I was wondering, why the hell din't WWE do Austin/Hogan at a WrestleMania? I mean they had 2 years to do it, hell one after the other, yet they still didn't, why?
Why did it have to be Rock Vs. Hogan at WrestleMania X8?
then, why did it have to be Austin Vs. Rock at WrestleMania XIX?
Does anyone have an explination for these, or backstage info on this?

I think that they couldnt decide who would put who over. Both men felt they should win and neither was willing to lose.

Becuz Rock vs. Hogan a dram match that lots of people wanted to see.
And the year after Austin was gonna retire, and he wanted his last match to be against The Rock.

Their ego's are too BIG. Hogan as a Face refuses to lose.

Wrestlemania 23 would have been the best place IMO.
The Rock V Hogan needed to happen, at the time The Rock was the face of the WWE, and Hogan was the past. It mad a lot more sense than an Austin/Hogan Match.

I also find it quite funny that Hogan challenged Austin to a match at Wrestlemania during one of those homecoming things, yet WWE never even seemed to reference the challenge after that.

It never happended because Austin didnt want to wrestle again. The only time Austin really said anything about it was at the 2006 HOF when the fans were chanting Hogan/Austin. One of the things I'll never forget about WM22 is how bored the fans were with the Candice/Torrie match, that the Hogan/Austin chant was going. WWE ended the match just in time because in about 5 more seconds the building would of exploded.

Austin/Rock at WM XIX was better because it was about the Rock trying to finally get a victory over Austin, and Rock/Austin was such a better choice for Austin's final WM match.
