I think most of the time you will find the I-C champ in a more high profile match like the mitb and botb. In 04 Orton was champ and he was in a 3 0n 2 handicap match, the year before that it was extinct. The fact is the I-C title doesn't carry any credibility anymore.
In order for wwe to bring back this title(i think we can safely say that apart from the world title in wrestling no other title matters) they need to start giving it to fresh challengers like cody, elijah, burchill, punk, miz, kenny and more. I think there's only one superstar who can face a variety of challenger's and keep it very entertaining and that's Benjamin. He had without a doubt the most exciting title reign in 04-05 since it's re-birth in 03. He had killer matches against Jericho, Christian and Michaels and even pulled out a decent showing against carlito who was still a bit ropey.

I know your a Hardy mark, but it's inexcusable the way they have treated the prestige of the IC belt, it's not his fault but lets not be apologetic because he's the holder.

I forgot Jeff was the IC Champ to be honest.

I don't know but Jeff Hardy desperately needs to drop the belt. He's done nothing with it for several months, he's above it and he has absolutely no reason to have it.
Put it back on Umaga if necessary, or Carlito, anything will do it more justice than Hardy.

Because having two world titles makes the IC title the equivalent of the tv title or european title. So what does having 3 world titles do?

I'd really like to see someone like Charlie Haas or Val Venis...or possibly Super Crazy with the IC title...not like it's getting any attention right now as it is..

considering the wwe has half the titles it used to, you'd think they'd be able to find the time.

Because having two world titles makes the IC title the equivalent of the tv title or european title. So what does having 3 world titles do? Well, that reduces one of the belts to what the Intercontinental Title used to be. And it gives the champion an excuse to be in the Royal Rumble. Go figure.

I wish they never brought back the belt in 2003. Since bringing it back, it has done nothing but hurt the belt.

Just wondering before the Randy Orton vs Jeff Hardy IC title "match" when was it last defended?

Compared to years ago, we have more belts & more gimmick matches. Because of that, the IC belt has taken a backseat.

The IC title died when they changed the classic design. It used to be the 2nd most important title out there. I own the classic white strap replica and everytime I look at it it reminds me of all the great athletes who held it. They should just get rid of it and while they are at it the united states title as well.

It got horrible in 2001/2002.

It got horrible in 2001/2002. How about other guys that held the belt around that time. The Godfather, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, Chyna, Val Venus, William Regal, Jeff Jarrett, Test, Albert, D'lo Brown, etc. Sure they are all known names from the Attitude Era, but classic matches? Hardly. For every Jericho and Angle we get guys like those that aren't capable of stepping up to the next level on the WWE ladder. While I don't think WWE should ever get rid of either the IC or US Title Belts. The addition of more championships diluted the Intercontinental Belt as things progressed. Remember around that time, we didn't have the ECW or US belts....instead we had the Hardcore & European Belts instead
