This doesn't surprise me considering the only people that WWE appeals to are kids and the ones that have the minds of them.

they always have havent they? there was a cartoon in the 80;s and 90's. Most of the hulkamania period was targeted at children. As long as the on screen storys dont get dumbed down its fine. You are more likely to sell merchandise to a 6yr old than a 26yr old.

Which takes up about 2% of WWE programming a year.

I think its ing horrible. How could you acually think this is a good thing? Same here. WWE was at it's peak when it appealed to the older audience during the attitude era.

Does this also mean that the Wrestling Figure line will also be (more) orientated towards kids?
It would make sense since WWE has signed with Mattel.

I distinctly recall the attitude era bringing in a crapload of teenyboppers mesmerized by spot wrestling and all the raunchy humor.
One thing you have to remember about "appealing to an older demographic" is that it ironically tends to bring in a lot of younger fans as well.

Meh, I'm not against it. If it can bring forth change then I'm all for it. WWF has always done this type of thing...its just that they haven't in x amount of years. There isn't any reason to really be mad at this considering most of us grew up on the early years of the cartoons and crap anyway. Even if you came into the Attitude era, you were still part of a rebellious fad. If it brings in more fans to the programming then hey, I'm all for it. I'd gladly take the early 90's gimmick era over this crap any day.

You saying crap like this is the reason most people on this board are convinced that you're an idiot. Since we're making stereotype-like comments about types of wrestling others prefer, the only people that independent wrestling appeals to are morons and internet fans who want to feel TEH UNDERGROUND~! because they watch an alternative. Stereotyping is fun, isn't it?

To the odd few that do complain.
You can hate the fact WWE doesn't care about the internet wrestling fans, the fat 40 year old virgins, but to be quite frank, WWE/F has never been a WRESTLING company, and thats what seems to be complained about most, the sooner you people realize that, crappy gimmicks, stupid storylines which seem kiddy is what WWE is now.
If you don't like it don't watch it, as my opinions on the whole kid thing, good, they are the future, and they can make more money off it so why shouldn't they?
I mean since my Nephews saw me wrestle, they have been in to WWE big time, and there addicted, I've seen how much a few a items brought on them add up, with all the kids which the majority of the fan base, its adding up to a HUGE ammount of cash.

I don't see how this is a bad thing. Now that they're making things specifically for children, now they might turn the other stuff back towards an older audience.

DON'T YOU GET IT THEY'RE TRYING TO APPEAL TO KIDS! KIDS! WHAT DO KIDS KNOW ABOUT DIRT SHEETS, MELTZER, ROH, INDY WRESTLING, JAPAN? NOTHING SO THEY DON'T DESERVE TO WATCH WRESTLING ALRIGHT?
