Alright well my brother has a PS3, and we "share" it but I'm about to buy my own and was wondering what to do.
40 gig ps3 has wireless internet wifi right ? Does it support HDMI ? Does any of the systems come with hdmi cable ? Do the systems come with hd components ? Blue ray is automatically in best picture or do I need an hdmi cable ?
UPDATE: Bought an 80 gig Question on an HDMI cable. The ones on ebay...the ones that are cheap like $15 and under, do they work well ? Why so cheap tho ? Thanks to all help, and whats some great games?

I don't own a PS3, but I know the answer to most of those questions:
Yes Yes No No Don't Know

Blu-Ray will play.. and it'll look decent, but for the FULL experience, you're gonna need an HDMI cable. - They're cheap and well worth it.

I have a PS3 and can answer these.
40 gig ps3 has wireless internet wifi right ? YES Does it support HDMI ? YES Does any of the systems come with hdmi cable ? NO Do the systems come with hd components ? NO I dont believe Blue ray is automatically in best picture or do I need an hdmi cable ? As said before, it will look good but and HDMI cable is needed for best picture.
If you research correctly, you can get an HDMI Cable for cheap. Also, the 40 GB PS3 doesnt suppost PS2 games playback I think. Correct me if I'm wrong.

So if you have a huge PS2 collection get a larger hard-drive model so you can play those games. The PS3 is no doubt my favorite system of all time.

The 80 gigs PS2 playback has it's share of problems. About 8 times out of 10 when I load up Fire Pro Wrestling the graphics shake like hell, to a point it almost makes me feel a little nauseous from how out of focus everything gets and GT4 hardly ever works. And of course, I can't play GH or GH 80s at all unless I want to play with a controller.

My HDMI cost me £19.99 from amazon.co.uk and it looks amazing, so I doubt £5/$ will make much difference tbh. - Also, Uncharted, Call of Duty 4, Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga, Oblivion, Virtua Tennis 3, Resistance, Motorstorm; and on top of those, a great variety of PS1/original games to download from the PSN. I just downloaded Crash Bandicoot myself and I'm loving it.

HDMI cables are the same pretty much as far as brand, but it's like buying a Wal*Mart brand soda and buying Coke or Pepsi. They're both alright, but which one are you really gonna want?
