There really different games, but if you have to compare em, Id go with COD4 defintly.

I would say COD 4 but the lack of matchmaking kills the multiplayer, especially since higher levels have better weaponry, it throws everything off balance. I am fond of GOW's multi but COD4's single player was great. If you're concerned about higher levels having better weapons, there is a "room" you can join where all of the players have the same weaponry.

It's not that hard to move up. If you have a hard time moving up then you shouldn't be playing online.

The other thing is, I have unlocked many things, but the most common weapon I use is the standard M16 assault rifle with a red-dot sight. You get the red-dot sight pretty quickly, so I'm pretty much using the same weapons as the other people anyways.

I haven't used my shotgun at all though. I should really start using it more.

especially since higher levels have better weaponry, it throws everything off balance. Coincidentally, the M16 with Grenade Launcher is the most powerful and useful weapon in the game- and you don't even have to unlock it. It's there from the start.

I personally don't like grenade launchers, I use the rambo combo (MP5 + 2 Rockets) which is easiest for me, but it's crazy how these people get weapons with super precise almost sniper-like scopes for SMGs LMGs and Assault Rifles. Mostly though it's the skill that throws me off, I'm a level 14, I don't even remember my rank, but I'm always against 55s and 24s. Although I see a couple of 9s and 10s, there are way more people at level 55, who have probably gone through prestige and all that stuff...

Call of Duty got old after I entered my 4th prestige mode.
Gears owns all.
Honestly my favorite game of all time.

I prefer Gears, just because some of my funnest gaming memories are with that game, and it was the first real game that I played online. That being said, I love COD4's level system, and I hope GOW2 has something similair.

I have to agree, at times in Gears I would just stop and look around because it looked so nice.

Personally, I don't really care what the graphics are like if the gameplay is good. I mean, I want them to be decent, but even as someone who makes a career designing; it's the content that is most important.

I like CoD4 because of it's realism in there, and shooting and killing through weak walls pwn.

I personally believe that CoD4 has one of the most rewarding online multiplayer modes ever, thanks to its unlock system.
