I think that Gears Of War is better.
Due to the fact it is a Third person shooter, this adds alot energy into the game. I think TPS are better than FPS.
Even though i completed gears of war already, i've still have alot of fun playing with my mates.
So what do you guys perfer ?

Well, I think they're a bit too different to be compared. I mean one's a Sci-Fi Third Person Shooter and the other is a Modern Day FPS.
Personally, I enjoyed Call of Duty 4's overall experience better than Gears of War because I was never too fond of Gears multiplayer.

I suppose i should of asked "First person Shooter's Or Third person Shooter's"

I love both games and I had alot of fun with Gears single player and even it's multiplayer when it first released, but I prefer COD4 just because I love the single player.

I absolutely love the online gameplay for Call of Duty. Yeah, I also prefer Call of Duty on single player, but Gears on co-op was great...Overall I have to give the nod to Call of Duty.

Speaking of CoD online, though... Last night, I was absolutely rolling. I was on an 18 kill streak with 0 deaths and my connection froze, thus not letting me get credit for my glorious run.

I will say one thing about Gears and that is insane is great, you have to use the cover system and it makes you want to rip your hair out at times, but I found it very challanging expect the fight with RAAM can go to hell.

Two different types of games but I think we can all agree they both had very short campaign modes. I like the gears multiplayer more just b/c of the fact that I think it is a bit more fair for everyone. When I play COD4 online, I dont play much so my rank is like 6, and I am playing against people who have all these weapon upgrades and such, kind of makes it a lot harder, still fun though. I still play gears online though. When you have a team that you usually play with, it is hella fun. I like how you really have to play as a team because you dont respawn when you die, unless your playing annex but who are we kidding annex is garbage. Overall both are great games, lets just get some info on GOW2 please!!!!

COD4 is the best shooter in years. Realism. Complete Realism. And yes it is better than Halo. It's time somebody said it.

To be honest I think Gears of War is overrated. I really enjoyed the game, but I just don't think it's as amazing as everyone makes it out to be. To me it got really repetitive, but I guess I can't talk when it comes to that department, I'm in love with Assassin's Creed. But for me Assassin's Creed is a good repetitive, and GoW not so much.
I still haven't played CoD 4 sadly, but I thought I'd give my two cents about GoW.

I've played plenty of Halo online and COD4 is leagues above it.

I would say COD 4 but the lack of matchmaking kills the multiplayer, especially since higher levels have better weaponry, it throws everything off balance. I am fond of GOW's multi but COD4's single player was great.
