Freebird, because no one cares about Stairway covers.....

Stairway's only awesome when you're listening to IV. Freebird's always awesome.

Stairway... Freebird is uncessarily long... at least Stairway builds up to something. As a lyricist/vocalist, I am not generally a fan of long instrumental intros or outros, or even incredibly long solos for that matter, and the back end of Freebird is rubbish. It should have been a 6:30 song instead of 9 min +.
Granted, both are great songs... but with Stairway, you have incentive to listen to the whole song, after the 6 minute point in Freebird I usually find myself going "ok, thats enough..." and skipping to another track.

They both die in the carnage because they are both overrated.

Well the main reason it was so long, was so Ronnie could rest his throat, or that was the original plan. I prefer Stairway, they song it self it like a Stairway as far vocals, and instruments go.

If you have to rest your throat after singing a simple song like Freebird, you should find a new job...lol

This is kind of bothersome to me. Both bands made songs that were so much better. Can't we do a poll of "That Smell" vs. "Heartbreaker" or "Call Me The Breeze" vs. "Since I've Been Loving You?"
Oh well. I'll pick Stairway to Heaven because double neck guitars make me get off.

You've heard me say it before I'll say it again:
Stairway=Best song ever written. 'Nuff said.

Eh, people say that all the time... its all subjective. If I thought Stairway was the greatest song ever written, it would have more than 3 plays on my ITunes playlist... then again "I Guess Thats Why They Call It The Blues" has like 469 plays, because a few months ago I got depressed, whipped out a bottle of Jager, a bottle of Cabo and a six pack and got drunk and passed out while listening to it.
