Bout to plop some $$$ down and wanted to know which one is the best.
I heard DLP/rear projection has that bulb projection every 3 years and plasma's have the burn in when playing video games. I'm a gamer so may be leaning towards LCD. Help would be appreciated. thanks

LCD. Has a much sharper image. Plasma's aren't very good, actually. Never been a fan of projection. Definitely go LCD. Especially since its for games.

All of them have their advantages and disadvantages.
The main questions are: - How much money do you have to spend? - Is there going to be a lot of natural light in the room the TV will be in, or is it in a primarily electricity-lit room? - How much space do you have for the TV?

I have a 50' plasma in my living room. And a 360 and PS3 and I have had no problems with it at all. My buddy who has a 42' Samsung LCD has complemented the picture on mine. But to be fair his picture is great as well.

LCD TV or Projector.... in which case DLP is the way to go. LCD TVs are amazing, but LCD projectors have way too many problems.

I recently bought my mom a Sony Bravia 46" LCD, and it's AMAZING.
The old tv was a plasma, and I gotta say, the new tv kicks the piss outta that old peace of crap.

I've got a 42" Zenith Plasma & a 50" Sony Wega 4LCD Rear Projection LCD TV. Both give great pictures (especially in HD), but I'd honestly stick with LCD. You don't have to worry about burn in or ghost imaging with plasma. With my plasma, I played the recent Royal Rumble Anthology on DVD back in January and I'm stuck with a burn in of the WWE logo on the bottom left hand side of my monitor. It still gives a great picture, but LCD is my preference of choice...(even a solid rear projection is wonderful). DLP would be a distant 3rd.

LCD is where its at. All DLP is; is just an minor upgrade of the ol' skool big screens. Oh "Its all in the Mirrors", but that dont change anything. They rainbow like the ol skool big screens, and they fade from side to side like the ol' skool big screens. Trust me; my dad bought one and it totally sucks ass! After he saw my LCD; he wished that he had bought one, instead of the crappy DLP.

If you NEED to hang it on the wall.....LCD. If not.......DLP by far. DLP's have the best picture, but not the ability to hang it on the wall. Thats the major difference.

Dont you have to change the light bulb every 3-4 years in a DLP?

I own a Toshiba DLP and have never head a problem with it. It's been a little over 2 years. i have shopped recently with my brother who wanted a t.v and it seems that most places are recommending the LCD, especially if the room where its located will have quite a bit of light coming in due to doors or windows.
As for DLP, I love my HDTV quality, but I also realize that DLP's are not going to win this war and they are already harder to find than a LCD or Plasma.
I say stick with LCD unless you're looking to spend a minimal amount of money , then go with DLP

I say stick with LCD unless you're looking to spend a minimal amount of money , then go with DLP The thing that people want is be able to have the option to put their tv basically anywhere. With the big honkin' DLP's that's almost nearly impossible. They are huge and awkward compared to LCD's and Plasma's.
