I don't throw the term "rock god" around much... I don't consider Dimebag a "god"... why, because he's ing dead? He was an average guitarist at best. Cobain too... Cobain was a hack of a singer with terrible vocal range, a mediocre guitarist, and a decent songwriter... I don't even know who I consider to be a "rock god"... I guess Jimmy Page... maybe Robert Plant, I don't even think he was that great of a singer. Eddie Van Halen probably falls into that category. Arguably David Lee Roth, but more for his showmanship than his singing ability(or lack there of). Ozzy, more for his act... he really never was that great of a vocalist, like Dave, he's a better performer. Steve Perry is a rock god, because he is the greatest singer ever. Wow, I don't think I've ever seen you make a post that didn't slam Cobain. Honestly, if you think Cobain was aiming to be a great guitarist, you don't understand Nirvana's music.

And if we're going by the "sex drugs rock & roll" archetype, I'd say Iggy was the biggest rock 'god' or GG Allin.

I think Dave Grohl is pretty much already a Rock God. His contributions to Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Probot, Queens of the Stone Age, and Tenacious D have seen to that. Ones I think will be seen as legendary: Rob Zombie Marilyn Manson Trent Reznor Jack White Scott Weiland Chris Cornell Tom Morello Anthony Kiedis Flea Axl Rose Slash Eddie Vedder Completly agree with that list.

Axl Ro......hahahahahahaha yea right. I have to agree with you guys, Dave Grohl is phenominal. He keeps writing great songs unlike most of the **** out right now. The music business is terrible right now. I heard that song by Say Anything that goes "I called her on the phone and she touched herself" and thats when I really sat back and asked myself, is this what "music" is really coming to?. Its very rare to find talented bands anymore that have thier own sound and can make it. Give Say Anything's real stuff a chance, I promise you'll be far less disgusted and dare I say, impressed. I'm a fan of "Wow, I Can Get Sexual Too" but it is by far one of the weakest songs lyrically and overall musically, it's just catchy and thats why it was released. Say Anything is the type of band that chooses to release the worst of their efforts as singles. Trust me, Max Bemis is actually incredibly talented, albeit a little crazy. Look at some of their lyrics and also keep in mind, he wrote and recorded all of their first double album by himself. As far as the topic goes, Dave Grohl, without question. I consider him to be one of my idol's, I absolutely adore the Foo Fighter's music and I find him to be an incredible musician/songwriter.

I am not saying they suck, several people tell me they are nothing like that song which I hope to god is true.

I think you would find that it is, they really are something totally different than anything you hear right now. Max's lyrics are witty, catchy and some are downright funny, they have a really cool style that doesn't at all come through in the stuff they release.

And if we're going by the "sex drugs rock & roll" archetype, I'd say Iggy was the biggest rock 'god' or GG Allin. You just negated any opinion you may throw out from here on.

I can't even consider any of the Beatles "rock gods"... they didn't play music I personally consider rock. You're right The Beatles aren't "Rock Gods"....They're just GODS And FYI, Freddy Mercury is the greatest singer of all time, not Steve Perry...

Allin was everything that the glamour of sex, drugs and rock 'n roll wasn't. When VH1 brings him up on their Top 100 of what the hell ever lists, they're only showing you the tip of the iceberg. G.G. Allin's ideals went far and beyond throwing poop at people.

Clearly we're not talking about the same type of rock & roll.
I don't watch VH1, either.

If we're talking about Brian's "pillar of awesomeness doing his thing" description, as it seemed you were, then even mentioning G.G. would be cause for dismissal.
Otherwise, chalk it up to a wonderful internet misunderstanding.
