The film "Ocean Waves" (or "I Can Hear The Sea" as it's known in some countries) will be getting released in the UK by several European businesses.
The company Wild Bunch has negotiated rights for Ghibli's 1993 film "Ocean Waves". Wild Bunch will work in France (Ocean), Spain (Aurum), Germany (Telepool), the U.K. (Optimum) and Scandinavia (NonStop). It's currently unknown if the releases will feature any dubs.

This is good news for our European members, and those of us who were smart enough to buy a region-free DVD player.
FYI, I have seen several region-free upconverting DVD players popping up for very reasonable prices recently.

I'd say I'm a bigger fan of Miyazaki than I am of Ghibli as a whole, but there is no denying that the Studio has put out probably some of the best animated features in years, in some cases leaps and bounds ahead some traditional Disney animated movies. I'm fairly certain I've seen this movie via a fan sub.

I haven't seen this movie yet, but since people recommended quite a few Ghibli films in my last anime thread, I thought they might be interested in hearing about this. There might even be a Disney release of this film, I'm not sure off hand.
