Not sure how many care but...the 7th installment of Harry Potter movie series has now been split into 2 movies. First is slated to come out in November 2010, and part two is May 2011. www6.comcast.net/entertainment/articles/2008/03/12/Film.Harry.Potter/Good idea in my opinion. That book was so big, that it would be ashame to leave out some important details. So I agree with the idea.

I guess I'd care more if it weren't for the fact that the 6th movie isn't even out yet.

I guess this is good news for the fans that want the entire story told on film. Plus its gonna bring in a lot more money for WB.

I think this is great news, but it's actually a month or two old. Thanks nonetheless since I'm sure there are people who hadn't been informed yet.

I think this is pretty awesome.
I'm interested to see how they divide it.
But considering that means we're going to see pretty much the whole thing, that's awesome.

Yeah. It's a smart move. But I would have rather them just made one long ass movie instead of dividing it.

As far as the fans are concerned, everyone wins. The studio gets an extra money raking in blockbuster and the fans get a much bigger story.

It's good to see they wanna do the story justice. Cause it's not too good to screw up the end of a good story.

Yeah. It's a smart move. But I would have rather them just made one long ass movie instead of dividing it. But then you would only have to pay once. And theaters would be able to show it fewer times per screen per day. On a related note, I'm sure glad everybody signed their contracts before this decision was made. Imagine having to replace an actor between the two parts.

the only reason they probably did that was too get more money out of the movies. they know that basically after the movies are finished that they wont be making any major money off of the harry potter series anymore. itll just be people that didnt get it when it came out or people that are late getting into the series. personally once the paper back comes out of the 7th book im finished with them. ill have all the books in hard back and paper back. i was disappointed in the movies because they were leaving things out. so i stopped watching them. I may just go watch the 7th one since theres a major chance that nothing will be left out.
as of how they're going to release them to dvd - i wouldnt be surprised if they come out with 3 dvds for sure. one with the first part, one with the second part, and then one of the whole thing. and then i dont doubt that they will come out with a box set of all the movies together like they did with the books.
