Ric Flair had become fifty percent owner of the WWF following Survivor Series 2001 after Shane and Stephanie McMahon had sold their stocks to him in order to purchase WCW and Extreme Championship Wrestling. Vince McMahon detested having to share his creation with Flair and looked for a way to dissolve their partnership. After entering a feud with The Undertaker, Flair sought a match with him at WrestleMania X8. However, the WWF Board of Directors would only allow the match if Flair were to return one hundred percent control to McMahon. Flair agreed, however, the Board also reserved the right to review the ownership status of the WWF following WrestleMania. Their final decision was to split the entire WWE roster into two separate entities, with Vince McMahon in command of SmackDown! and Ric Flair in command of RAW. A draft is to be held online on WWE.COM, and the new era of the WWE will begin on the first RAW of the month. Each show will get their own world champion, I will take control of RAW, while Haz takes over SmackDown.

2002 was the last year i thought WWE was fantastic, it's a nice change to see Triple H on Smackdown, and i hope Hogan gets the title on Raw. I'll read a show before i judge this too much, but i'll make sure to read.

Why are you guys not going with the Undisputed Title? Me and Haz both agreed that it would be more difficult to book long term title feuds with only one world title between this. This way we can focus on out own feuds instead of wondering when one show is going to get to use the title.

WWE RAW ResultsDate: Monday 1st April 2002The new era for RAW kicked off with a new opening video, played to “My Way” by Limp Bizkit, followed by a massive pyro display. Ric Flair kicked off the show, introducing everyone to the new era of Monday Night RAW, and that starting tonight, the WWE will never be the same. The crowd go crazy as RAW officially gets under way. Jazz Defeated Molly Holly via submission after the STF at 5:31The crowd was really not interested in this match. Both women went out with the intent to prove that they are the dominant women on RAW, but it was Jazz who made the impact. Molly tried to make a comeback near the end but was taken out by a vicious kick to the ribs, followed by the STF for the win. Rating: 48%Kevin Nash and Scott Hall then did an interview backstage. Hall hyped his match against The Rock for later tonight, and Nash stated that one of the NWO will be walking away with the World Heavyweight title. Nash the grinned and said that soon enough there will be a new member of the NWO. Jeff Hardy Defeated Bubba Ray Dudley via pinfall after the Swanton Bomb at 7:31Two former tag team wrestlers made the jump to singles action in this match, but it was Jeff that showed he had what it takes to shine in the singles division. The crowd really got behind Jeff, and he got the pin after the twist of fate, followed up by the Swanton Bomb. Rating: 67%A hype video was then played showing a silhouette jumping around the ring, doing all sorts of crazy moves. It ends with the words “Rey Mysterio is coming to RAW” World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Quarter Final Edge Defeated William Regal via pinfall after the Spear at 13:24Edge got a great reaction from the crowd, but seemed to take no notice. Both put on a good performance, and was a match of speed and technical wrestling. Regal came out strong early on, but was completely outwrestled by Edge. Edge got the win after dodging the power of the punch, followed by a dropkick and then the Spear for the victory. Rating: 76%Raven was shown backstage getting ready for an interview. Before he could even get underway he was jumped by Tommy Dreamer, who brought a referee with him. Raven managed to fight Dreamer off with a number of trashcan shots, before walking off. WWE Tag Team Championship Match Billy Gunn & Chuck Palumbo Defeated The APA via pinfall after the Fame Asser at 11:42Billy & Chuck came out wearing new gear, which looked like biker gear. The APA used brute force to take the advantage, and dominated a lot of the match, but could never get the pinfall. The end came when Gunn hit Faarooq with a low blow followed by the Fame Asser for the three. Rating: 68%The Rock was up next with an interview to hype up the main event. The Rock talked about how it does not matter how many members of the NWO he has to go through, the next World Heavyweight Champion will be the people’s champion, The Rock! World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Quarter Final Scott Hall Defeated The Rock via pinfall after interference by Edge at 18:43Both of these men walked in with a purpose, and Hall also had Kevin Nash at ringside. This match was mainly brawl based, and the crowd really got involved due to taunting from Nash. The Rock took care of Nash on the outside with a series of right hands; the last one sent him over the barrier. A shock ending happened when Nash distracted the referee, which allowed Edge to run in, spearing The Rock, and letting Hall score the pinfall. Rating: 88%As RAW went off the air Scott Hall and Kevin Nash gave Edge an NWO shirt, which signaled he is the newest member of the NWO. The NWO celebrated Hall’s victory, as the crowd were stunned by Edge’s turn.

Wrestling Observer News from RAW
- Expect The Rock V. Edge to feature at Backlash. Edge’s heel turn is said to have been a complete success and he is expected to be pushed to the main event as a member of the NWO. - Rey Mysterio is expected to debut either at Backlash or the week before. He is to be pushed as a midcarder and may feud for the European Title. - Billy Gunn may be looking for time off in the coming weeks after he picked up a minor injury on this week’s edition of RAW.

A feud between Edge and The Rock should be great. I'm looking forward to it, man. Keep it up.

I was totally surprised that Edge joined the NWO, I was expecting a former NWO member to rejoin it. Edge vs. The Rock will be a great feud. I hope Raven gets a European title push in the future; I always thought WWE dropped the ball with Raven and I hope you can pick it up.
One thing I don't really like about this diary is that RAW has more champions than SmackDown; it would be cool if all the belts except for the World Titles on each brand would be defended on both brands but I can understand why y'all didn't do that. I hope you give Albert a push, and either Scott Hall or Steve Austin win the World Heavyweight Title.
So far this diary has kicked off to a great start and I hope you two can continue doing that. Can't wait to see what SmackDown! has to offer.

Edge vs The Rock would be sweet although tbh I would've prefered if Edge stayed face for a bit longer. Liking the tournament and interested to see who wins. I'm liking what your doing with the nwo. Keep it up.
