The Stars of World Class on Tour Week 1, April
Dale Clarke and Marc Lowrence kick off the show by running down the card, which includes a WCCW Television title defense, and a main event contest between David Von Erich and Michael Hayes.
Mike Von Erich defeated Frank Dusek in 5:47 by submission with an Iron Claw. A quick fast paced opener. Nothing to really comment on, Von Erich controlled the match, locking Desek in the Iron Claw for the victory. Rating: D+
The Freebird Nation (Buddy Jack Roberts, Jim Garvin, Michael Hayes, Terry Gordy & Sunshine) are backstage. Hayes led the promo, hyping his match against David Von Erich later tonight. Hayes then announced that the Freebird Nation is getting ready to make an impact.
King Kong Bundy defeated Brian Adias in 4:36 by pinfall with an Avalanche. A squash match, Bundy dominated Adias, refusing to put him away until he caused enough punishment. Bundy eventually put Adias away with the Avalanche. Rating: D+
Bill Irwin is shown getting ready for his title challenge next.
WCCW Television Championship Iceman Parsons defeated Bill Irwin in 13:35 by pinfall with The Butt Butt. Bill Irwin came into the match aiming to win his fifth WCCW Television title, but Iceman refused to give up his title without a fight. This match went back and forth, neither managing to get the upper hand for to long. Irwin would nearly get the win a number of times, but Parsons would not give up, and would hit The Butt Butt, followed by the pinfall to retain the title. Rating: C
Post match Parsons is celebrating his victory when King Kong Bundy made his way to the ring. Parsons did not budge though, and the two stared each other down while security attempted to get them backstage.
Buddy Roberts & Terry Gordy defeated Kevin & Kerry Von Erich in 16:44 when Terry Gordy defeated Kerry Von Erich by pinfall following interference from Jim Garvin. An excellent fast paced tag match. Kerry put on the star performance, and had some excellent encounters with Gordy, who put on an excellent display himself. The Von Erich’s had the advantage early on, but could not find the right moment to put the Freebirds away. Eventually Jim Garvin would distract the referee while Sunshine passed Gordy a chair, which would be used to lay Kerry out for the pinfall. Rating: B+
David Von Erich is backstage. He hyped his match against Michael Hayes which is up next before challenging the Freebird Nation to try and make an impact against him here tonight.
David Von Erich defeated Michael Hayes in 17:35 by submission with The Iron Claw. Another excellent match, both wrestlers went in intent on winning. Hayes would use underhanded techniques to gain control early on, but the skill of Von Erich would allow him to outwrestle Hayes, gaining control of the match. Both would go all out, but Von Erich would catch Hayes off guard with a dropkick, setting him up for The Iron Claw. Rating: B
Post match as David Von Erich celebrates the victory Buddy Jack Roberts and Terry Gordy jump him from behind, beating him down to the mat. Kerry and Kevin Von Erich eventually make the save, running the Freebirds off.
Overall Rating: C+

Garvin wasn't in the Freebirds in April 1983. This looks pretty OK so far, so I'll be reading.

World Class Wrestling Week 1, April
The announcing team of Dale Clarke and Marc Lowrence run down the card tonight, which will feature clips from the midweek show, a main event contest between Jim Garvin and Kerry Von Erich for the WCCW Texas Heavyweight title.
Clip: Iceman Parsons victory over Bill Irwin to retain the WCCW Television title, followed by his staredown with King Kong Bundy.
King Kong Bundy defeated Mike Von Erich in 3:54 by pinfall with an Avalanche. This was a complete squash match, and it did not make it any better with a terrible performance made by Mike Von Erich. Bundy dominated, getting the quick win after the Avalanche. Rating: D-
Post match Iceman Parsons makes his way down to the ring, and Parsons and Bundy yet again contested in a staredown.
Clip: David Von Erich’s victory over Michael Hayes, followed by the Freebirds attack and the save by the Von Erich family.
Kerry Von Erich is backstage. He hypes his match against Terry Gordy later tonight, saying that the entire Freebird Nation made a big mistake when they attacked David Von Erich, and that they now have the entire Von Erich family to take on.
Bill Irwin defeated Chris Adams in 9:21 by pinfall with a Superplex. A surprisingly decent filler match. Irwin came out strong, controlling most of the match, but Adams refused to go down without a fight. Adams would try to get a win with a superplex but Irwin would reverse it into his own superplex, followed by the pin. Rating: C
Skandor Akbar is backstage; he claimed to be the richest, and greatest, person in the United States. Akbar then warned World Class Championship Wrestling of the next coming, of Devastation Inc.
Buddy Roberts & Terry Gordy defeated Brian Adias and Frank Dusek in 5:52 when Terry Gordy defeated Brian Adias by pinfall with a Powerbomb. This was another squash. Roberts and Gordy dominated, and Gordy hit the powerbomb on Adias for the victory. Rating: C-
Post Match Buddy Jack Roberts & Terry Gordy started screaming bring it on Von Erich’s, do your worst.
WCCW Texas Heavyweight Championship Kerry Von Erich defeated Jim Garvin in 18:34 by pinfall with a Tornado Punch. Kerry Von Erich wins the WCCW Texas Heavyweight title. Kerry went into this match looking to get his first Texas Heavyweight title. Neither the Von Erich’s or the Freebird Nation were at ringside as the match began, and there was not really much to talk about until Terry Gordy and Buddy Roberts made their way to the ring. Before they could get involved however David and Kevin Von Erich ran down to ringside, which led to a massive brawl. The brawl distracted Garvin, which led to the Tornado Punch, the pinfall, and a new champion. Rating: C+
Post Match Kerry Von Erich escapes through the crowd from the Freebird Nation, along with the other members of the Von Erich family. Kerry celebrates with his newly won WCCW Texas Heavyweight title as the crowd went crazy.
Overall Rating: C-

Wrestling Observer Newsletter Week 2, April
WCCW The reason for Garvin dropping the title was because he has failed to convince both the fans and backstage staff that he is a main eventer. Kerry von Erich was the first choice to replace him.
Plans for the coming months are for a Von Erich/ Freebirds feud. Backstage staff members are planning for this to be a huge feud, most likely involving the entire Von Erich family.
WCCW are planning to sign a number of wrestlers to pay per appearance contracts. Arn Anderson and Tiger Mask have already signed on.
Buddy Roberts arrived late for the WCCW show, World Class Wrestling. He provided no explanation, and was fined a weeks wages.
Iceman Parsons will defend the WCCW Television championship (if he is still champion) against King Kong Bundy at the end of month spectacular.

Im interested in this as ive been looking up WCCW lately and watching some old footage from the DVD and i was actually very interested by it. Im liking the way your doing this and the shows have been good. Your writing style fits the WCCW perfectly. I'll definently continue to read.
