FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN! On Friday Night Smackdown this week, there will be a battle royal to determine who the number one contender will be for Rey Mysterio's World Heavyweight Title. With big names like Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker, and Batista, who will win the battle royal and get a title shot? Also, the Tag-Team Champions will be in action as they defend their tag-team gold against newcomers Austin Aries and Roderick Strong. Will these newcomers make a statement and win gold their first night? Don't miss that plus, two more newcomers will make their Smackdown debuts as Matt Bentley locks up with Joey Mecury and Nigel McGuinness goes one-on-one with Gunner Scott. All that and more, this Friday night on SMACKDOWN!

Who’s number 1? Tonight on Smackdown, it was a crazy night and it will only get crazier from here. The show started off with one of the many newcomers, Nigel McGuinness take on someone who hasn’t been on Smackdown long himself, Gunner Scott. This was a hard hitting contest. The winner ended up being McGuinness by submission. He hooked in a Modified Anaconda Vice on Scott’s arm he had been working on all match. The next segment was an interview with Rey Mysterio. During his interview, Michael Cole asked Mysterio point blank “If there was one person in the battle royal that you would want to face, who would it be?” Mysterio responded by saying “I think it would have to be Batista. I think we could work well together and put on a match that even Eddie watching down on us would approve of.” Cole then asked him about Sean O’Haire and Mysterio said “He would be a good opponent for me. I think that he and I have different styles but, it would still result in a good match.” The next match pitted Paul Burchill against Finlay. Burchill came out without his pirate gear; he was back in his traditional blue pants and looked all business. He and Finlay put on a great match that saw Burchill go over Finlay with a C4 Exploder. After the match however, the Samoan Submission Machine, Samoa Joe made his debut and came down to the ring. He got into the ring and began to beat down Paul Burchill. He hit him with several kicks and punches. He did his classic face wash boot kicks and then hit a running knee. He then went back up the ramp and looked on as Burchill layed in a mess on the mat. The next segment featured the debut of Austin Aries and Roderick Strong. They talked for awhile, and they said that “Basically… we are here to show everybody what Tag-Team wrestling is all about.” When asked about their opposition tonight, Aries said that “They really have no chance. I mean look as us, I’m AUSTIN ARIES, the best wrestler around and my partner is the MISSASAH OF THE BACKBREAKER, RODERICK STRONG. What are they, Hooligans? Ooo, I’m scared.” After that promo was their match. All four men gave it their all. They put on one great match. The finish saw a Shooting Star Press from London on Aries. As the HooliganZ celebrated, Aries and Strong took them out. They beat them within an inch of their lives. Strong hit several Backbreakers on both of them, each more deadly than the first. As Aries and Strong were satisfied by the beatdown they gave, they walked up the ramp as the crowd booed them loudly. After the match, a video is played. It showed a man with the light in front of him so you could not see his face, all you could see was his shadow. He said “I’ve beaten them all. I faced some of the best, I haven’t backed down. Now, it’s time to show what the gangsta lifestyle is like to the fans of the WWE. My name is Homicide and I’m coming.” Then, in big bold letters it said, “HOMICIDE, NEXT WEEK.” After the video, Rey Mysterio was shown walking in the back. He turned a corner and ran in Sean O’Haire. Mysterio said “My bad man. I’m sorry.” Sean replied with “Allright man, whatever. You better pray that I don’t win the battle royal tonight man. Because if I do, you are going to see a new side of pain you’ve never seen before.” Rey shot back with “It’s cool man. I’ve had bullies push me around since I was this belt. Your are just another bully that will talk all you want but, then get pinned by me in the middle of the ring. Hey, good luck man.” Mysterio then walked off while O’Haire had a pissed off look on his face. Next, another video is played, this time hyping Batista. Batista talked about how he was going to win the battle royal tonight. He said that he was hungrier than everybody else in that match, and he’s going to go out there and prove it. Finally it came time for the main event. All 10 men got in the ring and started right away. The first elimination was Booker T after Ken Kennedy threw him over the top rope. Then, as Kennedy was shouting “Kennedy” at Booker T on the floor, Benoit came up from behind and threw him over. Suddenly, The Great Khali floored everybody. All of the men fell easily except for The Undertaker, who fought back against the monster and eliminated him. The fourth elimination saw Sean O’Haire shocking everybody by throwing Batista out. Batista got very angry afterwards, and even kicked the steel steps over at ringside. Next, Bradshaw tried for a clothesline on Mark Henry but, he did not go down. So, JBL tried it again but, again Henry would not go down. So finally, he ran against the ropes and came back with a Clothesline From Hell which knocked Henry against the ropes and then Bradshaw clotheslined him over. As JBL was celebrating, Undertaker went for a chokeslam. He hit it and it sent JBL flying over the top rope. The next elimination saw Brock Lesnar pick up Undertaker and giving him an F-5 over the top rope. Then, Benoit came out of nowhere and threw Lesnar over the top. Then, Benoit was celebrating and Sean O’Haire came out of nowhere and eliminated Benoit to win the match. After the match, Sean celebrated as the screen faded to black. Quick Results: Nigel McGuinness def. Gunner Scott by Submission Paul Burchill def. Finlay Tag-Team Title Match: HooliganZ def. Aries and Strong to retain Sean O’Haire def. 9 other wrestlers to win the Number 1 contenders Battle Royal
I changed the main event a little bit. I had to re-write it because it was ed up.

That was an enjoyable read. One mistake though Booker T was dumped in the BR and yet still took part and got dumped again. Nice to see Sean winning.

I liked the way you wrote the show. It was good and I enjoyed some of the stuff you had going on. I like Burchill back to the all business Burchill, I enjoy Nigel McGuiness despite seeing very little of him but from what I have seen he is good and would be a nice fit in the SmackDown roster. Not a big fan of Finlay losing to Burchill as i'm a HUGE Finlay fan. My big problem with this is that like everyone says about diaries like this...it almost seems like ROH or TNA fused together with SmackDown with guys like Aries, Strong, Joe, McGuinness, Homicide, Bentley, etc. Also i'm not a big fan of Sean O' Haire being back and getting a title shot. I am a fan of Lesnar being back. I'm not a Lesnar fan because of how he left WWE but I did enjoy his wrestling before he left. My only big problem with Lesnar being back is he should have won the battle royal. Lesnar, Batista or Benoit I think as those 3 are the big guys that should be pushed as main eventers while you build up O'Haire and others. Other than that it was a good show, unrealistic in ways but as i've always said...I criticize that but at the same time diaries are made to be unrealistic in some ways. Good stuff. EDIT: Also if you announce a match, you should make sure to follow through with it and I speak of Matt Bentley vs Joey Mercury. Its a common mistake but try not to do it more than once or twice.

Everyone was really cool. Nice signings, although some unrealistic. O'Haire winning the battle royal, sorry, but isn't a good move. Not straight away anyway.

Oh, I didn't even realize that Bentley/Mercury wasn't on there. Yea I make that mistake ALOT! So whenever I book my stuff in TEW or EWR I always keep looking back at the previews and past shows i've put up in my diary just so everything has as much continuity as possible.

Animal vs. Beast This week on Smackdown, the Animal Batista will take on the Best, Sean O’Haire. This match comes after the shocking event from last week when O’Haire threw out Batista of the battle royal. Batista is reportally ready for this match, and has been training harder than usual. Also this week, Smackdown will have a match that was scheduled for last week but never happened. Joey Mecury and Matt Bentley were supposed to lock it up but, Joey had problems making it to the show. Will Joey make it to the show this week and take on newcomer Matt Bentley? Also this week, we will see Samoa Joe in action. He debuted last week by attacking Paul Burchill. What will Burchill do this week after that brutal attack given to him by Samoa Joe last week? Finally, this week will be the Smackdown debut of Homicide. He said that he is ready to make a statement on Smackdown, how will he fair? Tune in to Smackdown to see all this and more! (Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, I dropped Velocity.)

Animal vs. Beast This week on Smackdown, there was several surprises and things were out of control. Smackdown began with a match that we originally announced for last week but didn’t happen. In the opening contest, Joey Mercury and newcomer Matt Bentley squared off. Joey was getting in most of the offence but Bentley was coming back. About midway through the match, The Great Khali came down to the ring. He then proceeded to beat down both Mercury and Bentley, causing the match to be a draw. After he beat them both down until both men had nothing left, Khali mocked the Undertaker by pinning both men the way the Undertaker would normally pin his opponents. He then was screaming “REST IN PEACE” as the crowd booed him. The next segment was a video package. It showed the Undertaker over the past few months. He was shown laying out Mark Henry, JBL and giving the Tombstone. Then, the Undertaker’s cross symbol showed up on the screen but was then destroyed by a Motorcycle coming right through it. The Undertaker’s old music began to play again and it said “UNDERTAKER… BAD ASS IS BACK.” Next was an interview by Michael Cole with Rey Mysterio. He asked Mysterio about the battle royal last week. Mysterio said “I was shocked to see Sean win simply because he’s only one week since he’s been back.” Cole then asked Mysterio if he was ready to face Sean O’Haire. Mysterio responded with “Well, I think I’ve got a good chance, I’ve been studying tapes on how to defeat the big man and I think my chances are good. Cole then, for his final question who Mysterio thought was going to win tonight, Batista or Sean. Mysterio said “I’m going to go with Batista. He’s a big man and he’s very mad at O’Haire for throwing him out last week.” The next match was between Roderick Strong and Paul London. This was a good match with both men showing why they are quickly becoming some of the top performers on Smackdown. At the end of the match, Paul London was going for a Shooting Star Press but, Austin Aries came out from the back and pushed London off the top rope and he came crashing down onto the floor. He then rolled him back into the ring and Strong hit a huge Backbreaker for the pinfall. After the match, Aries came into the ring and he and Strong beat down Paul London until Brian Kendrick came running into the ring with a chair and made the save. He then helped up London as Aries and Strong headed toward the back. The next match was the debut of Homicide. As soon as the bell rang, he quickly began to beat down his opponent, Scotty 2 Hotty. After several minutes of easy work, he put Scotty away with a Cop Killa for the victory. But, he wasn’t done there. He began to put boots to the face of Scotty and gave him another Cop Killa. He then celebrated as Scotty layed in a heap on the mat. The next match was another debut, this time of Samoa Joe. He was taking on Jay Lethal, who was dominated from the start. After several huge kicks that almost knocked Lethal out, Joe went for the finish. He hit the Muscle Buster and then locked in a Kokina Clutch for the victory. After the match was over, Paul Burchill came down to the ring with a chair. He hit Joe as hard as he could but, Joe would not fall. So, Burchill did it again and again and still Joe would not go down. Then, Burchill launched off the ropes but, Joe caught him with a huge kick that sent Burchill flying out of the ring. Joe stood tall as Burchill was slowly getting up, holding his head. The next match was a United States Title Match, pitting Lashley against Brock Lesnar. This was a physical match with both men showing their power. However, at the end of the match, Lashley was setting up for a Dominator when JBL ran out from the back and attacked Lashley. This caused the referee to call for the bell, ending this match. After the bell, Lesnar and Bradshaw were working together to lay out Lashley with several boots. Then, Lesnar hit an F-5 on Lashley and then JBL brought him back up and then hit him with a Clothesline From Hell. Lesnar and Bradshaw celebrated as Lashley layed in a heap in the ring. Next, there was a video, for Batista. He talked about how he was ready to win the Battle Royal last week but, Sean threw him out. He said that he was ready for a fight tonight, to try and get some revenge. Batista said he had been training all week, waiting for this match. He said that Sean O’Haire better be ready because “THE BEAST WILL BE UNLESAHED!” Finally, it came time for the match, Batista vs. Sean O'Haire. Both men gave it their all to try and win the match. Batista was very aggressive in this match, trying to take some of the frustration out that Sean cost him last week. At the end of the match, O’Haire was looking like he was going to win but, Rey Mysterio came down to the ring, with a chair. He was going to get in the ring when the referee stopped him. Mysterio threw the chair into the ring and as the ref was getting it out, Mysterio slid another chair into the ring. Batista took the chair and hit the mat with it, making a loud sound. He then threw it to Sean and Batista layed down. The referee saw Batista layed out and Sean with the chair, and he yelled at O’Haire. After getting the chair away from O’Haire, Mysterio got into the ring and hit a West Coast Pop and Batista covered him for the win. After the match, Sean got up and was pissed off. He got a chair and layed out the referee and Mysterio. He then hit Mysterio over the head several more times and then gave him a Prophecy onto the chair. He then celebrated as the screen faded to black. Quick Results: Joey Mercury vs. Matt Bentley (Draw after interference by The Great Khali) Roderick Strong def. Paul London Homicide def. Scotty 2 Hotty Samoa Joe def. Jay Lethal by Submission United States Title Match: Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar (Draw after interference by Bradshaw, Lashley retains) Batista def. Sean O’Haire

I thought Mecury would have won the first match but Khali came out. Backbreaker for the win against London for Strong. Good finish. Homicides debut was cool. He squashed Scotty 2 Hotty. Burchill seemed hurt at the end of the match when he tried to hit Joe with the chair. Joes a powerful guy and another good debut. Jbl caused Lashley the win, that sucks. Sean O Haire should watch out for Batista he seems serious. Batista got the win because of Rey but in the end Rey lost out. Im glad O Haire got revenge at the end of the match by laying out Mysterio. Good show.

interesting, Sean O' Haire mark? you dont meet many. anyway, i hope he OR Batista destroys Mysterio and takes that title off of him. Good results overall, but generally i would try and stay away from doing Samoa Joe vs. Jay Lethal, because thats just an ROH match, and youre not that company. put Lethal in the cruiserweight division too, hell probably put on all good matches with those guys.
this is good so far and i will continue to read.
