The Return of Chris Jericho Week 1: June 2007
I was sitting backstage after one of my Fozzy Concert when I was reminded of the fact that it was almost exactly one year since I was last seen in a wrestling ring. My last Wrestling match was the night after Summerslam against John Cena for the WWE Title. It was on that night that I wasn't sure if I would ever return to the wrestling ring again. I had been teasing the fans the last couple of months, keeping them guessing on whether I was ever going to come back. I looked around the locker room and realized how much I love what I am doing right now however I realized that I missed wrestling just that much more. The whole reason I left wrestling is to pursue what I am pursueing now with Fozzy. Like a sign from the heavens, my phone rang and it was a number that I recognized, a number I hadn't answered a call from in a very long time. It was John Laurinaitis, the Head of Talent Relations for the WWE. I pondered for a few seconds before finally answering the phone and I was immediately showered with praise.
Johnny: Hey Chris! It's Johnny Ace calling, how have you been
Chris: I've been just fine Johnny, and you?
Johnny: I've been great, thanks for askin'. Listen Chris, I've heard some things milling around that you have been toying with the prospect of returning to the World Of Wrestling. Is this true Chris?
Chris: Well yeah, I've been toying with the idea but I haven't made a decision yet really.
Johnny: Ah, I see. Well Chris, you should know as well as any that you always have a place reserved for you here in World Wrestling Entertainment and I am sure everyone would welcome you back with wide open arms.
Chris: Well I don't want to make any solid decisions right now but believe me when I say that you will be the very first person I call when I do make my decision.
Johnny: Sounds like a plan, I look forward to talking to you again soon. Don't be a stranger, keep in touch.
Chris: I will Johnny, Take care.
Johnny: Yeah, you too Chris.
I closed my phone and set it down beside me. I had many thoughts to ponder before I make any strong decisions. I turned on the TV in the corner of my locker room. and switched the channel to Spike TV and saw a program I grew familiar with since my sabatical from Wrestling. I saw a product I could very easily see myself a part of. I was watching Total Nonstop Action's iMPACT show. They had a decent product that I didn't mind watching every week or so. Christian Cage was in the ring, he was champ, and in there with him was Kurt Angle. TNA had recieved a bad reputation from some people on the Internet for picking up all of the people that WWE didn't want but I viewed them as picking up people who the WWE didn't use properly with the exception of Kurt Angle. Like I said though, I had alot to think about.

Chris Jericho: The Decision Is Made Week 1 Day 2 2007 I rolled out of bed, completely re-energized when something caught my attention. From out of the corner of my eye I saw that the light on my answering machine was flashing. Apparently there was 5 messages left on it. I thought this was odd as lately I have only got a few calls from my friends like Jay [Reso] and Chris [Benoit] but that's about it. I turned on the computer and glanced around some of the dirt sheet websites to see what was going on. Apparently a story was leaked where I essentially guarenteed my return to the WWE to happen in about 2 weeks. I told Johnny that I wasn't sure what I wanted to do much less give him a time frame. I wasn't too pleased that a story like this got leaked out on the internet but there wasn't much I could do about it now. I checked my messages, the first one was from Johnny.Machine: You have :5: new messages. Message 1
Johnny: Hey Chris, it's just me Johnny. Listen I told some people about the possibility about you coming back to the WWE but apparently there is someone who really doesn't like you that I told and so he leaked to somone and it made it's way out on to the internet. Anyway, Vince doesn't think it's a good idea to have you coming back right now as any chance for a surprise is completely blown and that was the only thing he had for you. Remember though, once this whole talk about you coming back in 2 weeks dies down then maybe we can meet about you coming back. Talk to you later Chris. Are they serious? They weren't going to capitalize on such a great idea like this? There are so many possibilities to be had here and they are passing up on every single one. That is the only thing that bothered me sometimes with the people in WWE is that they rarely see long term. I didn't really want to hear the rest of the messages but they kept going anyway.Machine: Message 2
Dixie Carter: Hey there Chris, it's Dixie Carter from TNA calling. Listen, I heard some interesting stories that you were interested in returning to the world of wrestling, more specifically the WWE. I am just calling to let you know that if things don't work out with them then all of us at TNA would be extremely interested to have you on board here especially your pal Jay. Well I hope to hear your voice sometime, have a great day and talk to you later. This TNA offer intrigued me and little did Dixie know that things already fell through with the WWE. TNA is an interesting career opportunity for me and is right at the top of my list for possible locations. I sat there listening to the next couple of messages.Machine: Message 3
Gabe Sapolski: Hello Chris, this is Gabe Sapolski from Ring Of Honor Wrestling. Everyone is talking about how much you want to come back to Wrestling. We here at RoH would love to have someone like you come to a few shows here and there. Now we couldn't really offer you the kind of money that you may be used to and we can in no way compete with the WWE but if you did do a few shows, we would appreciate that. Have a nice day Chris.Ring of Honor is another wrestling promotion that tickled my fancy but it wasn't really a long term goal. The other 2 messages were from two Japan promotions which didn't really interest me at this point in my career as that would be taking a few steps backwards. I think I finally made my decision so I picked up the phone and dialed the number.Chris: Hello, Dixie? Hi, this is Chris Irvine.
Dixie: Oh Hi Chris, how are you doing?
Chris: Oh I am doing just fine. Listen, I was calling about the offer you made to me earlier.
Dixie: What about it?
Chris: Well I was just wondering, when is the soonest I will start?
Dixie: Well we have a contract ready for you to sign. We can have you come down for the next iMPACT taping, have you sign your contract and hammer out all of the other necessary details.
Chris: Sounds good. But listen, I don't really have an interest in being like overly dominant in the title picture, maybe every once in a while but I really want to just further some of the other guys' careers you know?
Dixie: I understand Chris, we will see what we can do for you.
Chris: Thanks alot Dixie, I will talk to you later.
Dixie: You are quite welcome and you have a nice day and we will see you at the next taping. There, the deal was done. Everyone expected me to go to the WWE, including myself, but now I guess I shall help out TNA. I'm not mad at Vince or Johnny or anyone else like people may think but I will take this opportunity to make TNA serious competition with the WWE and we shall see how things go from there. I was now the newest addition of Total Nonstop Action[OOC: To be perfectly honest, I was going to go to WWE but the WWE said "World Wrestling Entertainment have let it be known they are not interested in you. This is because you do not have the most trusted people in the company, the road agents, and booking team, on your side" This is because Jericho strongly dislikes Triple H and Bischoff. So I guess Jericho is going to TNA ]

Chris Jericho: The Return (Chris Jericho and Scott Steiner Vs VKM on XPlosion) Week 1 Day 3 2007 The flight from New York to Florida seemed nerve racking but revitalizing as well. I was excited about the new chapter I was opening. I was also excited to meet all the new faces that I looked forward to working with as well as some people I worked with before, mostly Jay. My plane landed in Orlando at about 12 O'Clock. I got off the plane and was met by Jay with wide open arms. He gave me a ride to the Universal Studios sound stage where we both entered. Every one backstage seemed excited about my arrival. I chatted with people I have been watching for a while now, people that I have come to appreciate. People like Samoa Joe, Abyss, AJ Styles, Chris Daniels and many others. Then I moved on to some of the more familiar faces like Kurt, Terry, Jeff and Scotty Steiner. After getting comfortable with everything around backstage, I met with Dixie Carter. I was informed that tonight was just a match to gauge how good I still was. She informed me that she wanted me to have a Tag Team Match against Voodoo Kin Mafia which was comprised of the New Age Outlaws from the WWF. I was looking forward to performing with these 3 guys again. So I was shown where my locker room was and I got ready. Scott, Brian, Monty and myself went over how we thought the match should go. The three of them thought of an idea that I was a tad bit apprehensive about. They suggested that to prove “I still had it” that we should wrestle to a 60 minute time limit. I asked if Dixie would be upset that we would kinda go a little longer than she may want. They informed me that she would love the idea and they would just make it shorter for TV if need be (which likely would be the case as Xplosion is only an hour long show). TNA allowed me to use one of my Fozzy songs for my Entrance Theme so I chose “With The Fire” as I thought it was fitting. My music hit and I was ready to head out there. I struck my pose on the ramp where the bright lights came on and I was met with the warmest response you could expect from 3,000+ fans and now I was comfortable
ONE HOUR LATER
I marched back up the ramp where the fans were still chanting “That Was Awesome!” after my first match back in the wrestling business. I took the time to break charecter for a split second and bow just before the curtain before heading back. I walked back and everyone in the back was clapping for me, Scott, Brian and Monty. Dixie came up to me and wrapped her arms around me, welcoming me home to where I was comfortable. I shook everyones hand and me and Jay walked out the back door when my cell phone rang. It was Johnny Ace, I chuckled as I answered it.
Chris: Y'ello?
Johnny: Hey Chris, this is Johnny Ace calling.
Chris: Oh hey Johnny.
Johnny: Listen, I think that Vince might be starting to change his mind about this whole thing and I think he wants you to come back to the WWE. What do you say?
Chris: Well geez Johnny, is this because he heard the news?
Johnny: News? What news are you talking about Chris?
Chris: Well um, I kind of already took up an offer after I was denied by you guys. So uh, I already made my return to the world of wrestling and infact, maybe you can check out TNA's Xplosion to see how comfortable I was in my return. I will talk to you later though Johnny, take care.
I closed the phone as me and Jay shared a laugh over the whole thing. Jay unlocked his car and we both got in.
Jay Reso: Damn, Chris you looked good out there. It's like you never missed a beat since last Summer.
Chris: Thanks Jay, I'm really happy that TNA gave me a chance here because I think the WWE missed on a perfect opportunity.
Jay: Well if tonights match is any indication of thing then I have a feeling you may get more offers from Johnny Ace. Welcome to your new home Chris.
Chris: Glad to be here Jay. Come on, let's go get something to eat, I'm famished.
[OOC: Sorry about not going into any detail about the match but I wasn't going to summarize my 60 minute match, as it happened at like 3 O'Clock this morning. However my next match will have more details.]
