From WrestleZone:
Word has it that John Cena's next film "12 Rounds" will be a direct to DVD release.

Was The Marine ever released in Cinema's? Yeah, you know... not that I ever saw it there, so, yeah.

What's Vince's obsession with movies? Stick to wrestling or pass it on to Shane. I was watching the Beyond The Mat documentary the other day, it was filmed in like 99 or so, and Vince was talking about moving on from wrestling to do movies even back then.

I think it's ok for Vince to do this. He's pretty much conquered the wrestling business.
I also wish they would break away from the action and horror films for a second and do a comedy...I think that is where the WWE start will shine!
Think about how many comedic people there are in the WWE.

Vince probably doesn't want another embarrassment on his hands like The Condemned.

Vince probably doesn't want another embarrassment on his hands like The Condemned. Hey, if I'm not mistaken, The Condemned did MUCH better when it was released on DVD than it did in theatres. So, I bet Vince wishes it was a direct-to-DVD release. You can't really say The Condemned was a total failure because it clearly wasn't. It did quite well on DVD.

So this means they won't hype it each week on RAW for 2 months?

They'll still hype it on TV every week, Theartical or not.
WWE is doing pretty good considering they've hardly made any films. I see their films almost in the same light as Ed Wood films, they are B Movies and borderline funny.

You are taking it out of context. Vince was referring to the theatrical nature of the wrestling business. His "we make movies" comment was in reference to how the backstage segments, story lines, and matches play out to the fans.

He tried to jump over to movies in the 80's with No Holds Barred. It didn't work then and it won't work now. No one, aside from a fringe minority of wrestling fans, is going to the WWE Films division seriously. I think it's ok for Vince to do this. He's pretty much conquered the wrestling business. I also wish they would break away from the action and horror films for a second and do a comedy...I think that is where the WWE start will shine! Think about how many comedic people there are in the WWE. No, you see, it's not ok. It's not ok because he makes crappy movies.

I think WWE Films is a good idea. Yea, it makes the main superstar in the movie absent for a few months or so but its business. I just keep wondering what Vince will do next.
