What is the correct spelling of his name? Liger or Lyger?
Anyone know for sure? Or have an autograph proving it?
By the way, it has been spelled both ways on merchandise and on name-bars/cards etc, so that isn't accepted as proof
Any help much appriciated

When he debuted in NJPW, Jyushin Lyger. He went to WCW and they renamed him Jushin Liger.
He dropped the y totally (in his first name) whenever he wrestled in NJPW after the WCW run or shortly after his debut. Some people now spell it, "Jushin Lyger" and some people spell it, "Jushin Liger". I think "Jushin Liger" is the American translation spelling and "Jyushin Lyger" is the correct way to spell it in Japan.
But lately, I think NJPW have just went with "Jushin Liger". It's a lot of the big NJPW fans who just can't stop spelling it "Jushin Lyger".

Jyushin Lyger is the direct translation of his name into English. Jushin Liger is the more American-ized/simplified spelling.
Much like Keiji Mutoh/Muto, Shinjiro Ohtani/Otani, etc...

Here is a better question, How do you spell Jushin Liger? ...isn't that what he asked, essentially?

I don't think the casual WWE fan would be interested in him.

Liger has done enough in his career to even need a push in WWE.

I don't think the casual WWE fan would be interested in him. I agree, I love Lyger, but his push would fall under the same fate as Ultimo Dragon and be non-existent.
