I know there are threads like "Favorite Film's" and such. I wanted to make this to see what everyone believes THE greatest film ever made was. Like if you could have everyone in the world watch one movie, which would it be?
I would go with Schindler's List. It was amazingly done and tells an important story. It may not be my favorite movie, but I do believe it is the greatest movie ever.

Citizen Kane was so ahead of it's time it's ridiculous.

Citizen Kane was so ahead of it's time it's ridiculous. Exactly, everything Welles did is what is still used today, there's a reason it's at the top of AFI's 100 greatest films.

This is a hard choice to make...so many films have added so much to the film experience. Lemme see if I can break it down by genre.
Sci-Fi - Forbidden Planet/ Alien Horror - Dawn of the Dead/Texas Chainsaw Massacre Thriller - The Wicker Man/ Rear Window Drama - Citizen Kane Action - Star Wars/ Death Race 2000 Western - The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly Comedy - Blazing Saddles/ Caddyshack Gore - Brain Dead (Dead Alive to us Americans) Exploitation - Thriller: A Cruel Picture
That's all I can think of at the moment

I've made this argument SO many times. And I firmly believe Forrest Gump is the absolute most ALL AROUND greatest movie EVER. No one dislikes that movie. I can't think of one thingI don't like about it. It's extremely moving. Nothing beats it for me.
I'm just waiting for someone to say cloverfiled or 300.

It's just outstanding. The only film that brings me to tears every time.
