Have you ever heard the clean version of a song and thought that it was better than the expicit version? I love the expicit version of songs and I usually hate the clean versions. The explicit ones entertain me more. But I guess for certain songs, it varies for me. For example... One time, I heard the song "Dead Presidents" by Jay-Z for the first time and I thought it was an awesome song. Then like a couple days later, I heard the expicit version of it, and I still thought it was good, but the clean version sounded alot better. I guess I just heard the clean one first and I was more used to it than the explicit version.
I know people may think alot of cleans are better than explicit, but you have any certain songs you would like to share? Any clean versions you thought were better than expicit?

I think that, especially in rock music, it's more creative and artistic to write clean lyrics instead of just constantly saying f*** you and f*** this and stuff like that.

I don't like edited songs. But personally, I prefer songs that don't NEED to be edited. Some cursing in songs sounds so forced.

Most of the bands I like don't exactly swear, they might throw in a f*ck or two.
Edited rap on the radio is so annoying.

I don't think one is inherently better than the other.
You can be equally creative with or without profanity, it just depends on what you're trying to say and how strong you want it to be. Pointless profanity is stupid. But sometimes it drives the point home.
That being said, edited material is always bad. Censorship is wrong, and that's all there is to it.

Songs that are written clean are fine... there are some great songs out there in all genres that don't have explicit lyrics. However, edited versions of explicit songs usually suck. I don't mind songs with an occasional "f__k" or "s__t" or "b___h"... but some songs just push it too far and its almost as if this artist couldn't express theirself enough to use normal words, so they have to plug in a thousand curse words...

Though I'm not a fan of rap, I get a kick out of the song "Big Things Poppin'" by T.I., the clean version, that is. I can't stand the unedited one, changes the whole song.
Other than that, though, no.
I prefer music that either uses language sparingly so that it has a TON of emotion when used, or music that simply doesn't need language at all.
