So I will say that I am not joining the MMA bandwagon. I've followed UFC way back when matches were only 7 seconds and didn't look scripted like they do now.

While I do like WWE, UFC is a little bit better because UFC is real.

I was going to say "Yes" about you posting about the UFC... But on second thought, after reading this, do us a favor and stay away from the MMA topics.

I voted no, as in you should not be posting here about MMA.
You're obviously as uneducated on the sport as 3/4 of the fighters were back in your golden days.

You guys cannot say that the current form of UFC is as good as it was way back when. I'm talking about 1997 - 2000 when certain fights while lasting over 2 mintues didn't look like the guys were just running and running and maybe getting a tiny hook in every so often. I'm talking straight up Shamrock bustin Gracie's eye and it goin purple to the point that theyhad to stop the fight 7 seconds in. Any of you that watched UFC 83 come on... Kalib Starnes.. if anyone even tries to convince me that this guy is a figher Imma laugh in your face. His match was horrible, despite all the rumors and bs going around about it. MMA.. yes is not a work.. I know it's a shoot but to a degree these guys are finally learning to a point that you can't really have those types of fights where you don't entertain to a certain degree and I don't really feel like certain fighters are going out there and bustin there ass. At the same time GSP is probably going to save UFC, not that it needs it, but as a whole he is probably the best thing they have going for them at the moment less the whole TUF thing.
Just went to the sports hub and I never have really gone in there. I didn't realize there were so many topics about UFC 83. Right on.

It's not just boxing or grappling matches anymore. It's true MMA. The Starnes/Quarry fight was obviously terrible, but that's the exception to the rule nowadays.

To a degree it is better but at the same time, some of the TUF fights seem so fake.

To a degree it is better but at the same time, some of the TUF fights seem so fake. Well, the TUF fighters are much less skilled then the rest of the UFC roster. That's why they went on TUF and not right to the UFC. Fighters like Frankie Edgar and Jon Fitch tried out for TUF and didn't make it on the show, but were brought directly into the UFC. TUF matches tend to turn into what old MMA used to be: a match focusing on one art. Look at some fighters who've evolved though.. Forrest/Bonnar 1 was just a straight boxing match.. Now Forrest is a pretty complete fighter. Fights from TUF just don't have the experience yet.
