I'm reading the book right now for a book report, and it seems very solid. If the right actors are picked, it seems to be a very good movie, not to mention they already have an amazing piece of literature to base their characters off of. Any thoughts on how the movie will turn out?

Info on Watchmen
Description Some would argue that the graphic novel Watchmen should never be filmed, but it has not stopped filmmakers from trying. Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons created the ground-breaking series first published by D.C. Comics in the 1980s. Watchmen explores a world much like our own where masked superheroes have existed since the 1930s. However, superheroes were outlawed in the 1970s except for those who work for the government. Now, one by one, the aging superheroes are dying under mysterious circumstances.
credits Billy Crudup (Actor) Carla Gugino (Actor) Jackie Earle Haley (Actor) Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Actor) Malin Akerman (Actor) Matthew Goode (Actor) Patrick Wilson (Actor) Zack Snyder (Director)
Distributor Warner Bros. (domestic)

I've been hyped for it for quite a while now. The hype is more curiosity than excitement for it, I should add. I just don't see this translating that well to a 2 1/2 hour movie.
There's been a couple of pictures released too. Some set pictures, character pictures, and one still frame from the film.

Yeah, this is a still frame that was hidden in the R-band 300 trailer from last year. Oh, and here's a shot that appears in the film:

I will see it regardless. Snyder did a great job adapting 300 and he seems to have a strong loyalty to The Watchmen. It will probably be good.

I have mixed opinions for the movie. Watchmen is my favorite comic book, so I'm up in the air about some of the stuff I've seen so far. I have faith that Haley will be a great Rorschach. And from what I've seen of the set design it looks great. But I have the feeling it could end up like V For Vendetta did for me.
I'm well aware the movie won't be a perfect depiction of the comic book, and I don't want to be "that guy" that feels it necessary to nit pick everything that wasn't in the book.

It would work better as a mini-series on HBO or Showtime. I just don't think they can cram it all into one movie.
