Up until recently, it was Donnie Darko.
I believe, however, that spot has been overtaken by Cloverfield.
Now before the bashing begins, I know full well that it isn't, by any means, the greatest, or even one of the greatest movies ever created. I, however, enjoyed it thoroughly from start to finish and was beyond intrigued by the marketing campaign for the movie - I loved everything about it, thus making it my favorite movie.

You shouldn't have to worry about being bashed for having an opinion.

I'd never watched Forrest Gump until last year. But I loved it.

The Dark Knight.
But out of movies that I've actually seen, Punch-Drunk Love or Ghostbusters.

My favorite movie is probably American Graffiti. It's an odd choice, but I just love everything about that movie. It's odd though, choosing a George Lucas movies that isn't a Star Wars....

Mine is as obvious as yours. Sweeney Todd just recently took The Nightmare Before Christmas' spot as my favorite, but all time favorite? I don't think anything can knock Nightmare. I've loved it since I was 3 years old, and you don't just kick something out that's been your favorite for that long.
