I'm currently looking for a samsung 40in lcd and I was wanting you guys opinion on the following models. The first one I have seen personally and is the LNT4065F model. I like this one because of the glossy finish and the chrome edges around it, the blue light on the bottom is also nice. It has 15,000:1 ratio. The other is the LNT4071F model, which I have not seen in person but looks similar in pics though I don't think the black finish is the same and I don't think it has a chrome border. It has 25,000:1 ratio. If anyone on here has any experience with these 2 models any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

With glossy screens, you should keep in mind that they can be hard to see if your room has a lot of light in it.
I actually avoid the glossy screens for that reason, even though they look nice when it's dark.

Forget Samsung!!! Get a 42" Vizio!!! A hell of a lot cheaper, and actually has very good ratings. Samsungs are over-rated!

I've read Vizio's look great and work well...for the first year. Then I've been reading that a lot of them go bad shortly after.

Well, Vizio's are pretty decent. I wouldn't say they have "very good" ratings. They have decent ratings. Above average. You can't go off of Amazon ratings since people review things before they're out or will give them a 1 star because Amazon didn't ship it on time. The average score for a Vizio is about a 6 out of 10 on C/Net

I have the LNT4061F and have it calibrated using: www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=11287410#post11287410 . I'm using HDMI inputs for my satellite and Component for my Xbox 360 and Xbox1. I have to say the picture is phenomenal. I have absolutely no complaints about my TV Oh and Kliquid, the screen itself isn't glossy. It's got the glossy piano black finish. The screen itself has no reflection at all. It's great

I've had it for over a year, and no probs. Little do you know that this is an American company started by a man that used to make the same PC monitors you are looking at right now. He decided to get into the Flat Screen business. In many magazines the Vizio has beaten the Sony LCD. It has awesome blacks, and good sound. I have a friend that bought a Samsung 6 months ago and the busted last month. He bought a Vizio to replace it; because he wasnt going to spend that much money again on something; that he could get for a third less of the cost of the Samsung or Sony.

After scouting about a 100 sites and reading 1,000 reviews. I'm not going with either of the models I stated above, as I have decided to go bigger. I will go with the Samsung 46in. 1080p model LN46A550. The price I found cannot be beat on it!!!
