Apparently Philip Seymour Hoffman was rumored to make a cameo in TDK as The Penguin, but only in a small role depicting him as an arms dealer, and the Nolan said if he had Philip he wouldn't want to waste him on such a small role. I would however, LOVE to see if he STILL could do The Penguin in a believable manner, I think a small cameo would be very neat, and keep the chacter alive at least in TDK II. I agree about The Riddler, but I want to see the intellectual Riddler from the animated series, with a darker take on the character, none of that goofy, spastic, hyper Jim Carrey stuff. Mr. Freeze would be intresting....but at the same time I don't see how he would come off as believable, nor fit in with the rest of the reinvented Batman chacters. Cat Woman would be really nice to see, as would Harley Quinn, Bane, Poison Ivy, and Killer Croc(I know I'll get torn up for that one) I'd also love to see them introduce Robin in TDK II, but have to turn into Red Hood towrds the end of the TDK III, and bring him back as a main villian in TDK IV. That of course is all resting on the fact that the Dark Knight will have 3 sequels. nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!! robin sucks You suck. Robin is a great character, but for the sake of preservation, both on the part of the new franchise and on the part of a character I like, I'd like him kept out.

After reading what others have said about the Penguin, i'd imagine they'd try to make him more 'KingPin' like if there were to use him as a major villian

Exactly what does everyone on here have against the penguin? He is a legendary batman villain and a good one too. I happen to think Mr. Freeze has always sucked, never found him interesting and arnold just put the finishing touches on that. I thought devito as penguin owned as did michelle as catwoman and I would love to see them reprise those roles in the future. Burton did an awesome job on returns and it is my fav film of the series with begins right behind it. Burtons batmobile puts nolans to shame by the way.

Are there any references to Burton's Batman in Schumacher's films?
I always saw them as too different entities because of how deep the contrast is between them.

Id like to see Jonah Hill as the Penguin.
Jessica Alba as Poison Ivy ftw.

I know JH as the Penguin would be bad, but I honestly think Alba as Poison Ivy could work.
As long as Halley Berry doesn't play Catwoman, it's fine.

In Batman Forever, they actually do make a mention of Catwoman and the previous movie.
Dr. Chase Meridian: You like strong women. I've done my homework. Or do I need skin-tight vinyl and a whip? Batman: I haven't had that much luck with women. Dr. Chase Meridian: Maybe you just haven't met the right woman.

I like the old rumor of Bob Hoskins as Penguin.
And for The Riddler I'd want Casey Affleck or Jude Law.

I just watched the end of Batman Returns. Catwoman lives, why wasn't she not in either of the other Batman films, nor mentioned? BTW: The Dark Knight is going to be better than any Batman movie ever. Who Cares? Yeah
