Well I just got the Ok from my parents to get one, and I want to try to search for the best deals etc. I want to get the 30GB one because I have more than 4000 songs, other than the Apple Store, is there anywhere else I should look? I saw something on Amazon.com for 270$ for the 30GB...so I guess my questions are:
Should I buy one in the store or chance it with online stores?
30GB with video playback is still the one that plays music correct? (Yes dumb question but just wondering)
Any help or advice would be fantastic, I think this goes here, if it doesnt then I am sorry.

To my knowledge (trust me, it's very limited when it comes to ipods), the Video does still play music. Also, you could always try ebay for an ipod if you really don't want to spend a lot of money. Then again, the prices for Ipods on eBay don't go much less than the MSRP.

the videos do play music, silly...
i'd go to a local store and buy one, to be honest. you wont find many on "sale" if at all... i bought my older third generation 15gb iPod at a BestBuy 2 years ago and got a price that was just as good as anywhere else.

Buy online. If you go to school you get a good discount on it, from buying it off Apple's site. ~JCLS

I'd say get it from Apple to be honest... it won't be much cheaper anywhere else you go AND they don't charge for shipping or tax... plus you can get it engraved with whatever you want for free

Seriously? I didn't think they could charge you tax if you don't live in the state where they operate, unless you live in CA

This really isnt a computer related troubleshooting question, its more of a merchandise question on where to purchase it.

I got a pretty good deal on it becaue I had some paypal rebates, and there was no tax added. Anyway, to get a student rebate from apple go to the following site: store.apple.com/1-800-780-5009/WebObjects/EducationIndividual?type=higherEdi'm not sure, but I believe it is only for college students. it is a $30 rebate
