So today started off a bit better then the usual day's. I got up a little later, had all my homework done and a project due today, and we (my brother and sister) left earlier then usual. So we're driving around my school when we see about 15 police vans on the side of my school. We're like WTF? We had no idea what was going on, but continued with our driving and we then went around the block for a spot. We find a spot and my sister park's the car in front of a friend of mine. My friend told me that there are Metal Detectors at the school today. It all started to click, the police vans, more people outside the school than usual, and a lot of people leaving school. So then I see a friend of mine from the football team up the block, I asked him if there were really metal detectors. He said yeah and their doing anal cavity searches ;D. So we're like, that. We get back into the car and start driving home. But then we see the line of all lines. Literally longer then a line for Kingda Ka. They were making everybody wait outside in an "orderly fashion". The line went from the top of the school, down to the gate surrounding our football field. So we got home and I was the lucky one to explain the situation to my mom. Have any of you guys expierenced these Metal Detectors at your schools? I wonder what the scene looks like when they find a weapon on somebody.

Your mom was ok with you skipping school? Well... I woldnt really call it skipping, as i did go. But she said it was ok but not to do it again. I need my phone and such because i'll need to communicate with her and other people after football practice.

My school had metal detectors after someone got stabbed, only 2 or 3 people from each class were searched, and typically one of the ones had a knife and another had cigarettes, what's really intellectually- disabled is that the people that got searched volunteered......well at least the people in my class did.

Never, kids are free to bring in their weapon of choice, all they get is a little rant and they're free to continue causing havoc [our headteacher doesn't believe in punishments ]

Simple solution. Arm all the students. School shootings would end. Metal detectors are not needed.

Some schools (not mine), in bad neighborhoods (the hood), have permanent ones installed, but no, I have never heard of one coming to my school.

I mean could you imagine if kids did not have texting? man it would be such a hard and cruel world.

It wasn't the people in my class that got found with stuff.
