but on my norton, I have none of those options.

Follow these steps to turn off outgoing email scanning:

1. Start Norton AntiVirus. If Norton AntiVirus is installed as part of Norton SystemWorks or Norton Internet Security, then start that program.

2. Click Options. If you see a menu, click Norton AntiVirus.

3. In the left pane, click Email.

4. In the right pane, uncheck Scan outgoing Email.

5. Click OK. If a Protection Alert appears, on the drop-down menu, click Permanently, and then click OK.

And I noticed in all the pop ups, its like my email is sending out spam to random people.

Yeah but a better anti-virus than Norton might set you back quite a bit , i cant really give much help as it has never happend to me, sorry, but what i would do is if it is bugging you so much do a system restore, put everything you need on a memory stick and restore your comp, then you can add the stuff you need back onto your comp whenever you need them
