I know it's a total pipe dream and impossible, but anyone kind of miss Vince announcing?
He just had a feel that really made everything seem like a big deal and really supplied a "big fight" feel to alot of matches.
I know he's busier than ever and ontop of that he is an on-screen character to boot, but I always thought it would be cool if Vince returned to announcing RAW w/ Lawler. Thoughts?

I liked him then, but it's impossible now, with the way he has evolved his character.

Yeah, I definitely miss Vince pre-Survivor Series 1997 as the play-by-play man on commentary.
He was goofy and didn't know the names of a lot of moves, but the excitement was there and I always enjoy the opening of past events where Vince hyped the ppv like it was freakin' WrestleMania each time. Not to mention, heel commentators would always try to get under his skin and watching Vince try to focus on the wrestling is hilarious.
Now, I wouldn't want him to do commentary now, as I believe Vince would not give the same dedication and is a little out of touch as far as today's wrestlers go. But, if we're thinking back close to eleven years ago, yeah, I miss that Vince McMahon any time he gets involved in another stupid storyline these days.

Im not sure i ever really liked him, bit too over the top. id imagine he quite likes sitting behind the curtain orchestrating these days through shows.

He was good at times, and then there were times when he strained himself to the point where you thought he'd just turtle headed.

I do, but I prefer his role as the Chairman. I wish he'd go back and act how he did during the Attitude era, that was defiantly my favorite.

Vince was an awesome announcer. He and Monsoon were the best at interacting with the color analysts. Ross and Schiavone both had a bad habit of ignoring their partners and just calling the moves radio style.
I remember that WWE online actually had an article that McMahon was scheduled to return to announcing back in Fall of 1999 (a few months after the "End of an Era Match"). He was supposed to commentate the UK PPV of September or October of that month. However, ratings started dropping a bit and he wound up returning as Mr. McMahon.
He is just too over as a character to do it anymore sadly.
