here we have an ad for official Lucha Fuerte figs and a packaged pic of Plastiboy with his mascot and helmet off in his ring gear. Lucha Fuerte was a promotion in Argentina in the late 80s, it's now defunct. these are not bootlegs, and these are actual wrestlers. in the ad here's who each wrestler is: - Ruben Peucelle (currently he's the GM of 100% Lucha) - Kato (he was Shuto Omori in 100% Lucha) - Ro-Box (Juan Figueroa, he wrestled under a few different names with the promotion) - El Reptil Verde (Ruben Peucelle under a mask) - Joe el Gurka - La Arana (Kato under a mask) - Enrique Orchessi - El Vikingo - El Ninja Negro - Plastiboy the bottom image is Plastiboy in his ring gear with his mascot. these pop up from time to time on ebay, and you may also find the bootlegs of these with packaging that says Catch Superstars on it.

1. What the hell is that pink bear thing? 2. Why do they look like crappy He-Man knock offs?
These may not be actual bootleg figures, but they look like they were made with bootleg figure parts. Cool find though.

Cool find though. 1. the pink thing is Plastiboy's mascot. he's like Hornswoggle to Finlay or Alushe to Tinieblas or Cuije to El Alebrije. i forgot it's name and it didnt appear too often, which is why i was surprised that he got a fig and Rudo Valdez didnt. 2. the company that made these is Plastirama. they're the same company that made the Argentinian G.I. Joes using modified Hasbro molds. they just took MOTU figs and added new heads on some and repainted the bodies. Ruben Peucelle's fig is the He-Man fig, just repainted and with the hair painted black. El Reptil Verde is one of the Snake Men (not sure which one as i never really got into MOTU). alot of times foreign countries will use copied molds of american figs and just remake them into their own figures with cheaper plastic. and remember, yes i found out about these figs just recently, but these came out in the late 80s when the that style of figure was common on wrestling figs. they probaly saw AWA Remcos and were able to get MOTU molds and made the figs. i bet these sold well down there too, as all the footage i've seen from that promotion had big crowds and even today 100% Lucha sells out just about every house show they do. wrestling is really popular in Argentina.

Besides; pretty cool that Argentina has two official wrestling figure lines!
Plastiboy seems to have the Plastirama emblem on his chest. Was he like a promo character?

Was he like a promo character? good eyes, i didnt even notice that. he definitely could have been. i've only seen him wrestle twice and the second time was in a clip. his name seems to imply it as well and Plastirama was the biggest toy company in Argentina at the time.

Heh, saw a sweet Kato El Ninja set: featuring a knife, nunchucks, shuriken, bandana and medal. So much cooler than the warrior or hogan set by Hasbro edit: some nice pics

So much cooler than the warrior or hogan set by Hasbro edit: some nice picsin the first pic, it's El Ninja Negro and one of his minions. apparently he has like 20 other black ninjas come out after his matches. if you go to youtube and search Lucha Fuerte you can find a match between Kato and El Ninja Negro and after the match they all come out and surround the ring. i think it's awesome that they made a fig of one them and put it in a 2 pack.

here's a pic of a few these figs loose: from top left going clockwise: - Ron Morgan - Enrique Orchessi - Rudo Valdez - Ruben Peucelle - El Negro Ninja - El Charro Santana - La Arana i'm going to have to get a few of these, just to have them and because the more stuff i see from the promotion, the more i like. 100% Lucha is great, and you can see that they get some stuff from Lucha Fuerte. i'm still looking to see if there are more in this series. i never saw that Orchessi carded, and you can see that he's in different gear than in the ad, and in the pic i just posted you can see he's in the gear from the site you found Ruby. maybe each has variants as well. i'll post more pics if i find more.
