Does anyone know why there was so little released from Playmates around 96/97? The grudge match series, Heroes of Wrestling series, Ring Masters series, and the Tall Talking Undertaker. Plus the un-released Heroes of Wrestling series 2 and Austin/Andre ringmasters? I could only find these at Hills and no where else.

i remember seeing some of the playmates merchandise at a kb toys in about 1999 and there were jakks stickers over the playmates logo on their packages..so im guessing jakks bought out the rest of playmates merchandise??..those were some cool figs that playmates made by the way..

Playmates were released just prior to Jakks picking up the WWF-E license. There simply wasn´t enough time for them to release more figures as Jakks took over. There are even Playmates figures floating around that were restickered by Jakks thus having the Jakks logo on them.

it was a poor series.. it seems that playmates did not put much into this, and it was targeted tot he kids. They could have done so much more. I do know that he action figure line was jakks and they had a contract with wwf at the time (1996).. That is why Playmates only did the big heads and small figures with the ring. Along with the tall Undertaker and Sid. The Bret And Austin or michaels or Foley (I can't recall which one was due out) never were released. Along with the Big Heads Andre & Austin

When i get my digital camera up and running...i will be sure to take some PICs. Overall, a pretty cool set. The Grudge match figures with the mini ring are pretty cool.
