i was wondering i have a HD DVR from Time Warner Cable, and i wanted to know if theres away to set it to 1080i

Yeah,you should call and ask for support with it.Its better to do that,then try it yourself and mess the cable box up.

Is it the silver box? If so I had that with mine and all I did was plug the composite cables (RGB) into the back of the box and then into my tv. Then on the front of the box it would say 1080i on the top left.

This one was mine It had HDTV written on the top right corner. Might need to get a new box if it doesn't have the composite plug ins. Cause mine came with the composite plug ins and cables.

Then plug the set of composite (RGB) into the back of the box and then into the back of the tv. And my tv had a input called "Video3 (YPbPr)" I went to that and had my HD channels and standard channels.

Yeah, that's how mine was.
I think I just left my coax cables in but they really weren't needed since I was getting cable from the digital box rather than just basic channels in SD.
