Dr. Strangelove or How I learned to stop worrying and love the Bomb is great as well. Yes it is, I totally forgot about that.

I liked the recently released Black and White version of The Mist. Great throwback if you ask me.

I've been wanting to do a thread like this for a long time, but I always thought there wouldn't be anybody on here that appreciated classic cinema like I do.....I absolutely LOVE black and white films.....I didn't really get into them until the beginning of this year, but it's basically all i watch anymore......Katharine Hepburn, Cary Grant, Clark Gable Jimmy Stewart, William Holden, Judy Garland, Humphrey Bogart, Orson Welles, Robert Redford, Paul Newman, Vivien Leigh...... The list seriously goes on FOREVER.......But without a doubt, not only my favorite black and white actress of all time, but just straight up my favorite actress of all time is the stunning Audrey Hepburn.....The woman was a goddess and there has never been and never will be another person that comes even close to being as beautiful and as talented as she was....
All that being said, I think my favorite black and white film of all time would have to of course be Casablanca.....

I just love any type of film in general. But Film Noir is one of my favorite subgenres. If none of you have seen Double Indemnity for shame.

I'm been on this kick of them for almost a year now. I've been watching a lot of films from the 40s & 50s. I work at a Blockbuster & we don't have that many, so I cheat & go to the Hollywood Video down the street because they have a huge selection. As we speak I'm watching A Streetcar Named Desire for the up-teenth time. I decided to watch "A Streetcar Named Desire" after reading this and I have to say the acting in it is phenomenal.....I LOVED Vivien Leigh in Gone with the Wind, but her performance in this is almost just as good....And it's a shame Marlon Brando didn't win the Oscar for his performance, but since he lost to Bogey, I guess that makes it not so bad......

The responses in this thread make me laugh.
I think the majority of the films that predate color are likely going to fade into obscurity for multiple reasons.
A. They are too slow paced for todays and the future generations.
B.There's no flashy bright colors to keep them entertained.
C. The stories & dialog are too smart for them to comprehend.
