I'm been on this kick of them for almost a year now. I've been watching a lot of films from the 40s & 50s. I work at a Blockbuster & we don't have that many, so I cheat & go to the Hollywood Video down the street because they have a huge selection. As we speak I'm watching A Streetcar Named Desire for the up-teenth time.

I'm going to go ahead and count Ed Wood, Good Night and Good Luck, Clerks, Young Frankenstein, and Renaissance.
I've never really cared if a movie's in color or not, I prefer movies made in black and white not be colorized though. If it's a good movie, I'll watch it. I watched Casablanca twice in one school year and do thoroughly enjoy it. M is pretty good, Peter Lorre is in this and Casablanca, great actor at playing creepy parts.

Thanks to film school my appreciation grew for them. But some I just can't stand. There are plenty, however, that almost my entire class criticized and I was the lone wolf that raised his hands when they asked if anyone liked it. They gave me crap, but I held my ground. They're friends of mine so they still gave me crap for it, till this day, haha.
I loved Citizen Kane, The Third Man, Casablanca, A Tripe to the Moon, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (I fell asleep in class watching it but I know I really like the film). I love mostly anything made between 1900-1910, just because it revolutionized cinema. Un Chien Andaloux is a great film!! Also a lot of experimental and avant-gard films from the early 1900s are really good. Man With a Movie Camera is a good old one too. I haven't seen it yet but I'm sure I'll like it: Metropolis, I have it on DVD.

Following and Pi are some good recent b&w movies. Black and white movies in the current day have a lot more appeal to me because no one does them anymore.

I'll watch it all, but some of the old black and whites have such a good style to them, especially film noir. You can actually get these awesome gets of like 9-10 film noir movies in Best Buy for under $10. I have two of them. The only thing is some films are featured in most of the volumes.

While I don't look at black and white films as a genre, there are a lot of black and white films I enjoy.

Alot of old ones I don't mind, but there are a few late century ones I like. Clerks, Pi, 50% of American History X, and I guess to some extent I liked Schindler's List.
The older ones are too romance-y for me.

Schindler's List if one of the greatest films ever made...
i love Black and White movies... Whether they be new or old... Granted, that's not my driving force for seeing a movie... But I get annoyed at people who hate black and white films solely for that reason... They are greatly limiting their movie experience.

The only black and white movie I found entertaining and funny is one of the best movies ever, Clerks. However, all of the older black and white movies just bore me. Let's just say I can't appreciate the originals/classics.

I liked shindler's list..
Wasn't sin city mainly black and white?
I mean it had red blood and other accents of color but it was a fun movie.
Generally I don't like it but sometimes it works..

How could I forget to put my favorite film of all time "LA DOLCE VITA" on my list!?
When I hear B&W I forget the new school B&W films from the 1980s and on. I just instantly think of all the early cinema stuff.
I loved Good Night, and Good Luck though!
