Three days ago i posted complaining about being sniped in a ebay auction for a mail away hasbro hulk hogan. The day after that i declined a counter offer for the entire wwf hasbro collection which contained the hasbro mail away hogan. I planned on cherry picking some green cards and few others and seller off the rest. But i don't really have the time to put up and sell 80+ figures. But today i got a great steal on ebay...... I won the "Hollywood Hulk Hogan Action Figure Lot" for $61.00 containing a "mint" condition, but loose hasbro hogan mail away!!! cgi.EBAY LINK NOT ALLOWED/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=280252578318 This was such in incredible steal....i figured if it goes 150-180 in the bag, a loose will most likely fetch $100. Such a great deal, i'd thought i'd share and give a little joyous rant. I have been searching for this figure pretty hard for about 4 months, and now i finally have it! Just a few more figures and i will be done with my collection. Not really interested in the whole set, just the wrestlers i grew up with. I finally won something good at a great price, and it just goes to show there is still some really great stuff on ebay. Real hidden treasures just waited to be unearthed. Keep huntin' Peace billy

i just can't believe the seller not once mentioned hasbro, or mail away, or rare, just "various figure lines" i only found it by searching "hulk hogan figure." go figure.

Loose ones are easily faked, that's why collectors usually go for the bagged ones.
In this case it seems real and it appears the seller had no idea of what he had.

in the case of the hogan...i'd say it would be near impossible to trick a person via custom. But with the bret and undertaker mail aways...sure it would be very easy to shove a purple hearted or red carded undertaker in bag and claim it as a mail away. you can't really tell the difference via photo between the 4 figures....as we have been seeing recently on ebay.

I love your confidence, and i think you are correct it looks legit but i still wouldnt buy out of its bag. Its meaning to me woul be pointless. But thats my opinion. I would only buy a loose mailaway if it was going for just a couple of £'s no more incase it was a very good custom, and there are people who are are more than capable of doing a convinsing job. Anyway im happy you have finally found your treasure, and i hope you look after it

It's a pretty decent lot and you got a good price for a loose mailaway. The other Hogans are a good bonus.

Its impossible to repaint hogan to the standard that hasbro used for the mailaway, unless...
.... you have built a hasbro factory at home and employed the staff to re create the exact techniques used in the 90s?.

I'm sure the master customers can make it. I'd never touch a hasbro to customize, however about 10 years ago there was this site Quirk's customs: he had amazing stuff...

I'm pretty good with Hasbro's as far as repaints go, but I can't make something painted look like it's not. In a picture I could fool someone, but looking up close you can always tell if a skintone is painted plastic or molded in that colour. The use of decals as opposed to tampos and certain spray-ops would be a giveaway, too.
I think this one is safe to buy loose, but one could get fooled into buying a custom by a deceptive picture. In person, there's no way someone who knows this line could get fooled.
