Is it just me or has the value of Hasbros gone down ? I havn't been collecting for a few years but back in say 2005 hasbros seemed to fetch a good price. Now scouting on ebay apart from the green cards/mailaways and dusty it seems you can pick most hasbros up for a few £ or $'s.
Why is this ?
anything to do with Jakks classic superstars line effecting the price ?

and also adding to this..... It seems to me (correct me if i'm worng) theres a larger markert for hasbros in the UK than the U.S... For example if you search ebay UK and ebay U.S fo hasbros it seems their are infact more in the UK esp comparing the sizes of the countrys...
does this indicate that the old WWF hasbros market is fading out in the U.S ?

Well I have a lot of hasbros i'm going to sell soon. So I hope not lol. hit me with a pm when your selling from a collectors point of view i can't see the appeal of the new classics, the hasbro line is such a great collection and the fact the they are nearly 20 years old make them so much more fun to collect in my eyes (hence why my girlfriend is kicking off because she wants to go away away and i'm spending money on "toys"..."they're not toys" is my usual response with an stern glare ;D

I don't just think it's Hasbro's. in 2003 I sold a few of my dads Beatles Albums (LP) on Ebay for a really good price, in April I was given Beatles Albums (LP) from my mums uncle to sell and they didn't get as much. The common ones which normall sell for £15-£20 sold for about £7. unlike previously.
The markets been flooded and alot of people don't trust ebay because of fakes and the worry of loosing your money.

another thing that messes with the auction prices is the shipping costs, you can send a hasbro loose in a bubble wrap jiffy bag for £1 but prices range anywhere up to £4 for a loose?! that would put me off because what seems like a bargain suddenly shoots up

To be honest Hasbros (with the exception of Dusty and Green Carded figures, and black HBK) have been available for a couple of £s each since at least 2002, so I don't know what you mean about the 2005 thing.

I remember only a few years ago almost all the Hasbros were going for $10 or more loose.
The only ones that were selling for less were:
All of Series 1 and 2 and Tag Team series 1 except Demolition, Akeem, Rick Rude, Dusty, and Andre.

...ive only ever known of the common hasbros going for £4-7 moc, its the newer figures that have captured the interest of the fans, like the cs line and umf and thats where the money is going at the moment.

I've been trying to finish off my Hasbros recently and have bought 70% of them from the US. They have tended to be cheaper from there, although I just this morning got Yokozuna on green card for £25 which I thought was pretty decent from the UK

maybe theres something to this theory.... i just won an adam bomb MOC for $26 yesterday!!! of course is was a bad item description, listed as "adam bomb figure" with only the word "hasbro" in the description. picked that up along with a blue carded razor red/black moc for $8.
i guess with the release of the "classic superstars" line being so popular hasbros have lost their popularity. and the fact that the "original" hasbro collectors are becoming older (21-30 years old) and we are starting to move out of the house and or need space/money. so everyones putting up their collections to sell off. for example.... i have seen 5 HASBRO hogan mailaways in the last month on ebay. 3 loose and 2 in the bag. for a figure limited to only 3000, half of which are probably in the garbage cus mothers threw them out, it gives a good signal whats going on. just a little over abundance, high supply right now bringing down the prices.

I was close to selling my collections when i hit 25 as i really needed the money, i didnt sell any, and now at 30 own my own house and 2 cars and the best thing i EVER did was not sell my figure collections! (dont tell my wife that) ...you cant beat the memories of those figures and if youve collected for as long as i have (about 17 years) you know what i mean!

Wish I had my first collection of hasbros... Had about 60 figs originally but sold at carboot prob about 1995ish at like 50p a figure...
Ahhh well I was just 13 back then and the money seemed good, what a dick LOL...
Anyway Now i'm 26 and have replaced most of em the past few years and in unplayed with condition. To be honest the ones I sold wer well played with (good times) although still wished I had them...
Anyway back on topic, I guess the fact hasbros are cheaper at the moment is a good thing. now is the time to complete collections..
in time their values should go back up tho right ?

I'm in the process of selling off a bunch of stuff (hasbro's, bone crunchers, OSFTM, AWA) and I was so bummed to see how little that stuff is going for now. Even the Galoob WCW stuff is next to worthless. Definitely because of the superior Jakks product out there.... Why would a kid want to spend a fortune on an AWA Remco Abdullah when they can get the Classic Superstars for a fraction of the cost with better sculpt & playability?

It's a shame because I have a large collection of WCW carded figures, and I know they'll never be worth much.
I have been picking up some Hasbros on card lately to be signed at conventions, and with a few exceptions, most have been cheap. Figures in general seem to be going for less, but there are still a few that refuse to accept this and put ridiculously high prices on good figures. Especially the AWA figures.

Well, I just put up a few AWA I had in storage for the past 10 years & they're in nice shape, but I don't expect to get more that the $5-$6 I paid for them originally. Ebay is a lot like the stock market...If only Spawn would become popular again I'd be able to unload the first 6 series of figures! ;D
