well i dunno about the "attitude era" but the monday night wars was 1995-2001.
the attitude era (purely focusing on WWF) is more down to opinion though

There is no official start/end, but I would say it started the night Bret Hart pushed Vince on his ass, (Raw) and ended when the "Invasion" angle ended...I am sure people will disagree, but that is how I see it...it is probably better to sort by Monday Night Wars (95-01)

The seeds were planted much earlier,
but I guess you could say the official start to the Attitude era took place as soon as Stone Cold Steve Austin pinned Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XIV, and the night after on Raw.
In my opinion, the end would've taken place sometime between 2001 and 2002. The night after WrestleMania X7 or the initial Ruthless Aggression speech by Vince McMahon could both qualify, if you ask me.

Yeah, there was no definitive start, it was a gradual thing with the rise of Austin and DX and the fall of Bret Hart. Although wasn't there a specific Raw where Vince McMahon delivered a speech about how the WWF was going to stop insulting fans intelligence and evolve?
As for the end, also undefined. Maybe the Attitude era ended when the Invasion began (as Chicago said, some people view the climax of the Attitude era as WM17), or when the Brand Extension happened, or when Rock and Austin were no longer on the active rosters. Wrestling now is pretty much a duller version of the Attitude era.

There are those who argue that the Era started at KOTR96.
As for the end, that's anybody's guess.

It definitely didn't start in late 1998.

I like how people are so definite in their answers...
"It started in late 98 and ended..."
Says who? There is no final, definitive answer to this question...

it started in march 1998 and ended end 2001 fixed IMO the attitude era started with the introduction of the scratch logo.. I have no idea when it ended. I think it's easier to say when it started (WMXIV) than it is to say when it ended.. maybe when WWF went to WWE (?)

IMO, Started - Night after WM14. Finished - Night after Survivor Series 2001.

It started the day after Wrestlemania 14 and ended when the WWF changed to WWE.

I'd like to say the attitude era ended before 2001, but there was still the "attitude feeling" with Austin and his heel turns.

id say it ends when the rock and austin both stop being active competitors, so id go as far as to say WMXIX (you gotta admit, it had a very Attitude type card). but when you really chisel it down it id say no earlier than WMX8.

It startes when the USA/Canada storyline with the new Hart Foundation (Mid 1997) and it ended when it became WWE. I don't care what anyone says, IT STARTED IN 1997!

The Attitude Era DID NOT start at WM14. The Attitude Era began the moment Stone Cold Steve Austin won the 1997 King Of The Ring. The accidental birth of the cultural phenomenon "Austin 3:16" is what pushed the WWF into the new edgier grounds that officially began the Attitude Era. Not long after that, we saw the birth of D-Generation X and so on and so on.

A million different answers as you can see. Personally I'd say 1998. I think most people can agree it ended by 2002, though.

personally, on my figure shelf, i have the Shawn/Bret beside each other, and after them i display my attitude-era figures and slowly bring it into current-day. (except it doesnt look anywhere near as good as it sounds )
