I used to be one of the biggest wrestling figures collectors. I have about 300 or more RA type figures, numerous TTL figures, R3 figures, BCA figures, Hasbros... whatever type of wrestling figure, I have at least one of them.
Now, I haven't purchased a wrestling in a about a year, maybe longer. I don't want to sell my collection... but I don't want to add onto it either.
Have any of you guys stopped collecting or thinking of stop collecting?

There was a while a few months back when my collecting status was on hiatus.
We bitched and bitched about Jakks giving us more CS, more figs, more lines, they did and alot of us can't keep up with it. That goes back to the old saying "Careful what you wish for."
If you really think you're done, then just hold onto your collection, maybe something new will spark your intrest eventually.

I've considered stopping with it because I'm getting older but decided against it.
I used to buy figures just to buy them. Now, I've decided to only buy the ones I really: want, like, need, can use. I've found it has really cut down on my spending on wrestling figures. Also, with Jakks putting out more and more lines it's easier to cut down on the RA style figures because less attention goes into them since their quality is dropping due to attention being directed elsewhere. The issue I'm having now is deciding which I really want because the line is drawing to an end next year and they are doing more releases more frequently.
I also buy McFarlane's Halo line, and I stick only to the campaign figures. Keeps it simple, but the figures are a bit expensive and they are about to pick up production speed on them too.
I'd keep the figures if I was you. Just buy what interests you. You'll prob regret it if you sell the collection like so many posters on this board do. They sell the figures then decided to get back into it and they have to start from scratch.

Seriously, that HOW I tend to collect. I started collecting Jakks figs 2 years ago, stopped for about a year, and started back up. I guess you might say I take a little hiatus from time to time to keep from getting burned out.

Meh, I used to buy like 4 or 5 a month back in them days... But now, I think I've gotten around 5 this year..
Now, with the prices going up (I mean jesus, one regular line RA was 12.99 at Target), the fact that stores like Wal-Mart are virtually not carrying them anymore, and the fact I'm getting older, it's becoming meh.. I now only get people I really like.. This year I've gotten Kenny Dykstra, Jillian, Dusty, and Cody Rhodes, Maybe a couple others..
I don't know why, but the novelty is wearing off on running to Wal-Mart and looking all over the section with figs.. Now it's just, ehh, scan who's on the front and walk away..

It's probably the biggest mistake I ever made. I know this didn't happen to you but my story was I was 14 and I was in Virgina with my cousins and uncles/aunts/grandma and what not. So my cousin(who I think is flaming) starts asking me what my hobbies are and such and I tell him I like wrestling and he said he liked Batista only because he is from Washington. He asked me if I played with toys and until that time I thought it was fine for a boy my age to play with toys. I tell him yes and he goes on this rant about how I'm to old and that I should be focusing on other things. And I was like damn maybe I am too old. So while I was there I bought a BoWCW Jericho and a RA 13 Triple H. It was 2004 and after he planted that seed in my head I stopped playing/collecting toys completely. Until about 1 year ago I bought some. I only buy when I have cash to spare and its not that often. I missed out on a lot of good toys because my cousin said I was too old and I believed him. Unless its your decision you should never stop officially collecting. Even if its like me a little buy here and there. I just felt foolish looking back on it.

Sadly no, I still collect despite being more and more disturbed by the production value. It's an addiction.

I havn't bought a figure in a while as well. It isn't as applealing as it once was. A lot of it is the fact that no one new (figure wise) has come out for a while. I really would like the Michelle McCool/Palumbo two-pack, but God knows when that'll come to Canada.

Only buy the figs that you need like the newer people who haven't had a RA fig.
If you have too many then sell the ones you can live without.
Everyone goes through a faze where they think they should stop...

I just recently semi-stopped collecting. I'm basically only buying some CS figures, as well as Jericho, Punk, MVP, and HBK figures since they're my favorite wrestlers left.
The hobby is just too expensive and Jakks' work is too shoddy. With gas prices and other necessities, I'd rather use my money towards other things.

I basically stopped buying WWE figs on a regular basis. I now concentrate on Mattle's DC Universe Classics line.

If I ever stopped, I would sell up and move on. I have slowed a bit over the years. I used to buy anything that had a WCW or WWE/F logo on it, Now I only buy all CS and figures I like. I have considered stopping before, but if I didn't buy figures what would I spend my money on? Probably shoes I think I really like the UMF line and CS line so they keep me busy enough.

I've thought about stopping from time to time. Somtimes, I get bored with the lack of new figures or news of releases. Other times I get tired of spending the money, especially when money gets little tight. Plus, between work, the wife and kids, and other interests, it gets hard to stay with it for a long time. But, it is more of a passion than a hobby so I stick with it. Been off and on since 1984 and hard back at it since late 90's.
